Experimental Study: Bearing Degradation Caused by Electrical Currents and Voltages at Low Speeds

open access: yesLubricants
In electric vehicles (EVs), bearings in traction motors are increasingly prone to electrical damage under operational currents and voltages, leading to accelerated wear and reduced lifespan.

Experimental evidence for the essential identity of the selective and normal photo-electric effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 1916
In the fall of 1913, while studying the photo-electric properties of freshly cut surfaces of the alkali metals in extreme vacua, we observed that immediately after first cutting, the fresh surface of sodium showed very large photo-sensitiveness when ...

Classical Noncommutative Electrodynamics with External Source

open access: yes, 2011
In a $U(1)_{\star}$-noncommutative (NC) gauge field theory we extend the Seiberg-Witten (SW) map to include the (gauge-invariance-violating) external current and formulate - to the first order in the NC parameter - gauge-covariant classical field ...

Bio‐Orthogonally Crosslinked Supramolecular Polymer Bottlebrush Hydrogels for Long‐Term 3D Cell Culture

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fibrous benzenetrispeptide (BTP) hydrogels, fabricated via strain‐promoted azide‐alkyne cycloaddition (SPAAC) crosslinking, form robust, bioinert networks. These hydrogels can support 3D cell culture, where cell viability and colony growth depend on the fiber content.

Current Signature-Based Bearing Fault Severity Classification Using a Robust Multilevel Cascaded Framework

open access: yesIEEE Access
Bearing faults are a critical concern in electrical machines, particularly permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs), commonly used in electric vehicles.

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Exploring the Boundaries of Electrically Induced Bearing Damage in Grease-Lubricated Rolling Contacts

open access: yesLubricants
As public attention is increasingly drawn toward more sustainable transportation methods, the popularity of electric vehicles (EVs) as part of the solution is rapidly expanding.

Boson mass spectrum in $SU(4)_L\otimes U(1)_Y$ model with exotic electric charges [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The boson mass spectrum of the electro-weak \textbf{$SU(4)_{L}\otimes U(1)_{Y}$} model with exotic electric charges is investigated by using the algebraical approach supplied by the method of exactly solving gauge models with high symmetries.

Shaping Ti3C2 MXene Nanospheres for Precision Near‐Infrared Photothermal Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In this study, we report producing spherical MXenes via fs laser fragmentation of Ti3C2 flakes in liquid medium. The nanoparticles demonstrated pronounced light absorption and high photothermal conversion efficiencies of 68% and 63% under heating with NIR‐I and NIR‐II lasers, respectively.
