Sintering for Grinding Swarf of Bearing Steel by Pulsed Electric Current Sintering

open access: yesJournal of the Society of Materials Science, Japan, 2003
This paper deals with sintering behavior of grinding swarf of bearing steel, which abundantly discharged while ball or roller bearings are manufacturing. The grinding swarf is investigated whether it is possible to use as P/M raw materials applied to machinery parts.

Direct Metal Deposition of Graphene–Ti28Nb35.4Zr Matrix Composites With Enhanced Mechanical, Corrosion, and Biocompatibility Properties for Bone Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Graphene nanoplatelet (0.1 wt.%) reinforcement significantly enhances the performance of β Ti‐28Nb‐35.4Zr alloy. Grain refinement, reduced water contact angle, and improved surface characteristics promote osteoblast adhesion and complete surface coverage after 7 days.

Advancing Electronic Application of Coordination Solids: Enhancing Electron Transport and Device Integration via Surface‐Mounted MOFs (SURMOFs)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of coordination solids, enabled by the surface‐mounted metal‐organic framework (SURMOF) platform, is on the cusp of generating the organic counterpart of the epitaxy of inorganics. The programmable and sequential SURMOF protocol, optimized by machine learning (ML), is suited for accessing high‐quality thin films of ...

Detection of Bearing Damage Using Stator Current, and Voltage to Cancel Electrical Noise [PDF]

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Advances in Signal Processing, 2011
This paper investigates the detection of a bearing defect in an asynchronous machine by analysing the electric signals. For this purpose, it is considered that the voltage is imposed and independent of mechanical aspect and that the mechanical defect appears only in the current thanks to the variation of impedance.

NanoMOF‐Based Multilevel Anti‐Counterfeiting by a Combination of Visible and Invisible Photoluminescence and Conductivity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.
