Development of a Novel Processing Route for Dispersoid/Precipitation‐Strengthened High Conductive Copper Alloys by Using Metalized Nanoceramics in Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study explores a process chain to produce dispersoid‐strengthened CuCr1Zr for applications requiring high strength and conductivity. Using gas‐atomized powder and copper‐plated alumina nanoparticles, additive manufacturing is performed via powder bed based additive manufacturing with green and red lasers, followed by heat treatment.

High-gradient behavior of a dipole-mode rf structure

open access: yesPhysical Review Accelerators and Beams, 2020
A normal-conducting, X-band traveling wave structure operating in the dipole mode has been systematically high-gradient tested to gain insight into the maximum possible gradients in these types of structure.

Local power coupling as a predictor of high-gradient breakdown performance [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
A novel quantity for predicting the high-gradient performance of radio frequency accelerating structures is presented. The quantity is motivated, derived and compared with earlier high-gradient limits and experiments. This new method models a nascent RF breakdown as a current-carrying antenna and calculates the coupling of the antenna to an RF power ...

Electrical breakdown of small gaps in vacuum [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Dielectrics and Electrical Insulation, 1997
The comparison of the characteristics of an electric arc breakdown in vacuum between two silver or silver-nickel alloy convex electrodes, enabled us to show experimentally that the process initiating discharge in vacuum is the electronic emission at the micrometer scale.

Deformation Behavior of La2O3‐Doped Copper during Equal Channel Angular Pressing

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
By additions of strengthening elements and/or structure optimization, the mechanical properties of copper can be increased while keeping favorable electric conductivity. By combining addition of La2O3 and processing by equal channel angular pressing, substructure development is achieved, leading to increase in microhardness to more than double the ...

Simulation of electrical trees in XLPE cable insulation and electric field analysis

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2018
To understand the non-breakdown phenomenon during the accelerating electrical tree ageing in cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) cable insulation, the non-breakdown mechanism of electrical tree is investigated in this study.
