Varying load big electric current rectifier autocontrol method study
2008 3rd IEEE Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications, 2008In this paper, a novel control scheme of the application of PWM method in the rectifier power source control is proposed. The proposed method is to control the rise, or fall in current and some switch signals, which are affected by the varying load.

Active fault-current foldback control in thyrister rectifier for DC shipboard electrical system
2015 IEEE Electric Ship Technologies Symposium (ESTS), 2015Next generation shipboard power system is moving toward medium-voltage dc (MVdc) architecture. Thyristor rectifier integrated turbine-generator system provides the dc power to the MVdc distribution bus. Active foldback via firing-angle control can be implemented in the thyristor rectifier to protect the system from short-circuit fault, thereby ...

This paper discusses three-phase high power factor AC-to-DC current source converters appropriate for Electric Vehicle (EV) battery charging systems. The AC grid interfaces are multilevel current source rectifiers constructed from standard power electronic circuits that have their fast-switched semiconductors and output inductors replaced with several ...

In an electric locomotive, the failure of any element or unit of the control system does not have to cause damage to power circuits or emergency operation. A control strategy for a four-zone ac–dc power converter with a discharge diode branch, which is connected in parallel to the rectified current circuit, is proposed.

Pancreatic β-cells fire action potentials as do cardiac cells and neurons, and electrical activity plays a central role in glucose-stimulated insulin secretion, which is disturbed in diabetes. The inwardly rectifying Kir2.1 potassium channels (KCNJ2 gene) control cardiac electrical activity by stabilising the interspike interval.

Electric Current Rectifying Device That Is Completely in Liquid State: A Theoretical Proposal
ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2015In recent years there has been an increasing interest in the development of electronic devices using non-conventional soft matter materials, as a novel alternative to traditional solid state electronic devices. These traditional solid state devices are fragile and usually are made of non-biocompatible materials.

Analysis of current drawn by the voltage-source active rectifier from the electricity network
2013 4th International Youth Conference on Energy (IYCE), 2013This paper deals with analysis of the current drawn from the grid by the voltage-source active rectifier. These converters are designed and controlled so that the current drawn from the grid approaches sine wave and power factor approaches one. Analytical calculations of harmonic analysis of this current based on the Fourier series are performed on a ...

AbstractWeakly electric fish such as Sternopygus macrurus utilize a unique signal production system, the electric organ (EO), to navigate within their environment and to communicate with conspecifics. The electric organ discharge (EOD) generated by the Sternopygus electric organ is quasi‐sinusoidal and sexually dimorphic; sexually mature males produce ...

Current control in electric multiple unit (EMU) pulsewidth-modulated (PWM) rectifiers is crucial for the system’s stable operation and fast transient response. It should not only regulate the sinusoidal current under very low switching frequency but also eliminate dc current avoiding transformer core saturation.
