Pulsar electrodynamics revisited

open access: yes, 2012
The inductive electric field is unjustifiably neglected in most models for pulsar electrodynamics; it cannot be screened by the magnetospheric plasma, and it is not small in comparison with the corotation electric field.

Three-axis electrical induction sensor of electric field strength in form of three mutually perpendicular disks [PDF]

open access: yesОмский научный вестник, 2020
Measuring the parameters of electric fields affecting technical and biological objects is impossible without the use of electric field strength sensors. Accurate measurement and control of electric field strength levels is challenging.

Resonant enhancement of ultracold photoassociation rate by electric field induced anisotropic interaction

open access: yes, 2011
We study the effects of a static electric field on the photoassociation of a heteronuclear atom-pair into a polar molecule. The interaction of permanent dipole moment with a static electric field largely affects the ground state continuum wave function ...

Electric field measurement in electric-field modified flames

open access: yesProceedings of the Combustion Institute, 2021
Abstract The application of an electric field to a flame modifies the flame characteristics due to the collective motion of charged particles generated within the flame. The applied field mobilises electrons and ions depending on their polarity, leading to localised regions of space charge with sufficient density to either locally amplify or shield ...

Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

Field-enhanced electron capture by iron impurities in germanium [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The dependence of electronic properties of a deep level on electric field is relevant for better understanding of its impact on device characteristics. However, direct observation of the field assisted free carrier capture in DLTS is difficult, since in ...

The Unexpected Role of Evolving Longitudinal Electric Fields in Generating Energetic Electrons in Relativistically Transparent Plasmas

open access: yes, 2018
Superponderomotive-energy electrons are observed experimentally from the interaction of an intense laser pulse with a relativistically transparent target.

Magnetospheric signatures of ionospheric density cavities observed by cluster [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
AJBR ackowledges support from STFC under consolidated grant ST/K000993/1.We present Cluster measurements of large amplitude electric fields corre- lated with intense downward field-aligned currents, observed during a nightside crossing of the auroral ...

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Hot-carrier transport and spin relaxation on the surface of topological insulator

open access: yes, 2013
We study the charge and spin transport under high electric field (up to several kV/cm) on the surface of topological insulator Bi$_2$Se$_3$, where the electron-surface optical phonon scattering dominates except at very low temperature.
