Pressure on charged domain walls and additional imprint mechanism in ferroelectrics

open access: yes, 2007
The impact of free charges on the local pressure on a charged ferroelectric domain wall produced by an electric field has been analyzed. A general formula for the local pressure on a charged domain wall is derived considering full or partial compensation

Analysis of a combined influence of substrate wetting and surface electromigration on a thin film stability and dynamical morphologies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A PDE-based model combining surface electromigration and wetting is developed for the analysis of morphological stability of ultrathin solid films.

Current Tracking Adaptive Control of Brushless DC Motors

open access: yesInternational Journal of Adaptive Control and Signal Processing, EarlyView.
In this paper, the current tracking for Brushless Direct Current motors is approached considering uncertainty in the parameters of the motor's model. An adaptive control scheme to compensate electrical parameters uncertainty is proposed without requiring any knowledge of the mechanical parameters.

Electrophoretic mobility of a charged colloidal particle: A computer simulation study

open access: yes, 2004
We study the mobility of a charged colloidal particle in a constant homogeneous electric field by means of computer simulations. The simulation method combines a lattice Boltzmann scheme for the fluid with standard Langevin dynamics for the colloidal ...

Piezoresistive Monitoring of Carbon Nanomaterial‐Reinforced Epoxy Composites Under Cyclic and Fatigue Loading: A Review

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Carbon nanomaterial‐reinforced epoxy composites exhibit pronounced piezoresistive behavior, enabling intrinsic damage sensing under cyclic and fatigue loading. This review critically compares carbon nanotube and graphene systems, correlating filler content, percolation threshold, and gauge factor with sensing stability and damage evolution.

Experimental Investigation of Heat Dissipation of Lithium–Ion Cells and Its Correlation with Internal Resistance

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Power loss is a limiting factor for batteries and individual cells. The resulting heat generation due to the power loss leads to reduced battery performance and, thus, lower efficiency. These losses are largely due to the internal resistance of the cells.
