Wounds as probes of electrical properties of skin

open access: yesJournal of Electrical Bioimpedance, 2010
We have built a model where we use a wound as a probe of the dielectric properties of skin. In this way one is able to infer information about skin dielectric properties in situ. We introduce the notion of a skin electrochemical capacitor.

Modeling of the Through-the-Thickness Electric Potentials of a Piezoelectric Bimorph Using the Spectral Element Method

open access: yesSensors, 2014
An efficient spectral element (SE) with electric potential degrees of freedom (DOF) is proposed to investigate the static electromechanical responses of a piezoelectric bimorph for its actuator and sensor functions.

Exact expression for Drude conductivity in one-dimension with an arbitrary potential

open access: yes, 2008
An exact expression for the Drude conductivity in one dimension is derived under the presence of an arbitrary potential. In getting the conductivity the influence of the electric field on the crystal potential is taken into account.

Research on the excitation method of symmetrical spiral online detecting sensor of metal debris

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
By connecting the symmetrical spiral inductive sensor to the oil return pipeline of the lubricating oil, a full flow online detection of the size, quantity and other parameters of the tiny metal debris particles in the lubricating oil solution is ...

Tension moderation and fluctuation spectrum in simulated lipid membranes under an applied electric potential

open access: yes, 2013
We investigate the effect of an applied electric potential on the mechanics of a coarse grained POPC bilayer under tension. The size and duration of our simulations allow for a detailed and accurate study of the fluctuations.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

Short Range Interactions in the Hydrogen Atom

open access: yes, 2018
In calculating the energy corrections to the hydrogen levels we can identify two different types of modifications of the Coulomb potential $V_{C}$, with one of them being the standard quantum electrodynamics corrections, $\delta V$, satisfying $\left ...

Optical properties of GaAs/Al$_{x}$Ga$_{1-x}$As/GaAs quantum dot with off-central impurity driven by electric field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The effect of a constant electric field and donor impurity on the energies and oscillator strengths of electron intraband quantum transitions in double-well spherical quantum dot GaAs/Al$_{x}$Ga$_{1-x}$As/GaAs is researched.
