Effects of Carbon Nanoparticles on Triboelectro‐Induced Surface Defects

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 28, Issue 6, 18 March 2026.
Carbon nanoparticles added to grease modify the electrocontact behavior. The synergy of particle concentration and electric current dominates the surface damage of metals in contact. Electrical surface damage caused by current leakage is a critical challenge in high‐performance applications such as electric vehicle (EV) drivetrains and wind turbine ...

Influence of the Cr to Ti Ratio on the High‐Temperature Oxidation Behavior of TaMoCrTiAl Complex Concentrated Alloys in Nitrogen‐Free Atmospheres

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, Volume 77, Issue 3, Page 442-452, March 2026.
Ta‐Mo‐Cr‐Ti‐Al refractory high‐entropy alloys show atmosphere‐dependent oxidation performance based on Cr:Ti ratios. Cr‐rich compositions excel in dry oxygen through continuous chromia formation, while Ti‐rich alloys perform better in humid conditions due to reduced chromium volatilization and hydrogen uptake effects.

Effects of an orthogonal magnetic field on discharge craters created during the single-spark electrical discharge machining process

open access: yes工程科学学报, 2018
In the single-spark electrical discharge machining (EDM) process under the action of an orthogonal magnetic field, the plasma from the electric discharge is deflected and extends to the direction of the Lorenz force, which leads to a change in the ...

Hole Making by Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) of γ-TiAl Intermetallic Alloys [PDF]

open access: yesMetals, 2018
Due to their excellent strength-to-weight ratio and corrosion and wear resistance, γ-TiAl alloys are selected for aerospace and automotive applications. Since these materials are difficult to cut and machine by conventional methods, this study performed drilling tests using Electro Discharge Machining (EDM) to compare the machinability between two ...

Investigation of Corrosion Behavior of Carbide Phase Strengthened Nickel‐Based Alloy in Molten Fluoride Salt

open access: yesMaterials and Corrosion, Volume 77, Issue 3, Page 428-441, March 2026.
Molten fluoride salt‐cooled reactors are being considered as the next generation nuclear reactors because they provide a number of benefits over current light water reactors, including enhanced safety. This work aims to develop an understanding of corrosion of structural alloys in molten fluoride salts for successful implementation of these reactors ...

Enhancement Modelling Based on Electrical Discharge Machining Successive Discharges

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2022
The surface roughness of Inconel 718 is predicted using a sequential discharge model for electrical discharge machining (EDM). To begin with, the EDM single pulse discharge machining process was accurately simulated using the finite-element method (FEM).
