Mapping Electrical Impedance Spectra of the Healthy Oral Mucosa: a Pilot Study

open access: yesActa Stomatologica Croatica, 2015
Objective: Electrical impedance is the resistance to the electric current flow through a tissue and depends on the tissue’s structure and chemical composition.

Measuring the electrical impedance of mouse brain tissue [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We report on an experimental method to measure conductivity of cortical tissue. We use a pair of 5mm diameter Ag/AgCl electrodes in a Perspex sandwich device that can be brought to a distance of 400 microns apart.

ELECTRIC IMPEDANCE OF SUSPENSIONS OF SPHERES [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Physiology, 1928
A general expression has been derived for the electric impedance of a suspension of spheres each having a homogeneous non-reactive interior and a thin surface layer with both resistance and reactance. The applications and limitations of impedance measurements on such suspensions are discussed.

A Compact Spin‐Coated Graphene UWB Antenna for Breast Tumor Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A compact, spin‐coated graphene ultra‐wideband patch antenna designed for breast tumor detection, capable of distinguishing between malignant and benign tumors. This innovative antenna can serve as an effective initial screening tool, particularly in resource‐limited settings such as rural areas, where access to advanced medical equipment like MRI and ...

Prospective study comparing skin impedance with EEG parameters during the induction of anaesthesia with fentanyl and etomidate

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Medical Research, 2010
Objective Sympathetic stimulation leads to a change in electrical skin impedance. So far it is unclear whether this effect can be used to measure the effects of anaesthetics during general anaesthesia.

Modelization of Thermal Fluctuations in G Protein-Coupled Receptors

open access: yes, 2005
We simulate the electrical properties of a device realized by a G protein coupled receptor (GPCR), embedded in its membrane and in contact with two metallic electrodes through which an external voltage is applied.

Prediction of Surface Topography Parameters in Direct Laser Interference Patterning of Stainless Steel Using Infrared Monitoring and Convolutional Neural Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study presents an infrared monitoring approach for direct laser interference patterning (DLIP) combined with a convolutional neural network (CNN). Thermal emission data captured during structuring are used to predict surface topography parameters.

Electrical Impedance Spectroscopy for Electro-Mechanical Characterization of Conductive Fabrics

open access: yesSensors, 2014
When we use a conductive fabric as a pressure sensor, it is necessary to quantitatively understand its electromechanical property related with the applied pressure.

Contact impedances of textile electrodes for electrical impedance tomography

open access: yesIntensive Care Medicine Experimental, 2015
In thoracic electrical impedance tomography (EIT) electrodes are placed around the human thorax. Weak alternating currents are applied via two electrodes and the resulting potentials are sensed by the remaining electrodes. The measured voltages are then converted into moving real-time images showing heart and lung functions rather than its structures ...
