Electrical Submersible Pump

2020
Electrical Submersible Pump (ESP) in oil and gas industry is a multistage centrifugal pump used to lift moderate or high volumes of fluids from wellbores. In other words, ESP is one of the artificial lift methods that uses a downhole pump to provide an additional energy or additional lift to fluids inside the wellbore and hence improve hydrocarbon ...

Electrically pumped polariton lasers

J. Mater. Chem. C, 2014
Exciton–polariton lasers under fermions injection: a condensation of exciton–polaritons was achieved in a microcavity sandwiched by two gradually doped distributed Bragg reflectors with electrical pumping. The polariton laser with an electron–polariton scattering process offers a platform to investigate the interaction between bosons and fermions and ...

Electric-Discharge Pumping

1996
This paper seeks, firstly, to view contemporary laser developments from the standpoint of industrial users. For civilian applications electric-discharge pumping is employed almost without exception: either directly by means of a gaseous or solid-state discharge, or indirectly via electrically-energized optical pumps (flash-lamps, diode-laser pumps etc.)

Piezophototronic‐Effect‐Enhanced Electrically Pumped Lasing

Advanced Materials, 2016
This study demonstrates significant improvements of ZnO nanowire lasers by the piezophototronic effect. The laser output power can be enhanced by a factor of 4.96, and the threshold voltage can be decreased from 48 to 20 V by applying pressure.

Low‐Threshold Electrically Pumped Random Lasers

Advanced Materials, 2010
Electrically pumped random lasers are realized in ZnO nanocrystallite films in a simple metal-oxide-semiconductor structure. By introducing an i-ZnO layer, a threshold current of 6.5 mA is obtained. The reported results provide a simple route to electrically pumped random lasing (see figure) with relatively low threshold, a significant step towards the

Subsurface Electrical Centrifugal Pumps

Journal of Petroleum Technology, 1984
Summary The first subsurface electrical centrifugal pump for oilwell service in the U.S. was installed in the Russell field, KS, in 1926. Since that time many improvements have increased the efficiency of the pump at various pumping rates and depths in a variety of casing sizes.

Electrically pumped random lasers

Journal of Physics D: Applied Physics, 2015
Over the past decades extensive research has been carried out to study the lasing characteristics of random media. Some unexpected phenomena of random lasing action have also been discovered. Nevertheless, random laser technologies have never been commercialized for any practical application. So, is there anything missing in the study of random lasers?
