Effect of sensory deprivation and locus coeruleus phasic electrical stimulation following the deflection of adjacent whisker on response properties of principal whisker related-neurons in layer IV of rat barrel cortex [PDF]
Background: Barrel cortex of rodents is responsible for sensory information processing via facial whiskers. Locus coeruleus (LC), main source of cortical norepinephrine (NE), influences tactile sensory processing.

We present a tissue‐stimulator platform for seamless electrode integration with pancreatic tissue, applying uniform electrical stimulation through optimized design with biohybrid 3D printing. Advantageous effects of electrical stimulation on β‐cell function were observed, including enhanced calcium signaling, islet morphology, and maturation.

Electrical stimulation methods for scoliosis in children: a literature review [PDF]
Introduction. Scoliosis is one of the most common orthopedic diseases of childhood and adolescence, leading to disability and reducing the child’s quality of life. The prevalence of scoliosis in the structure of pediatric orthopedic pathology reaches 30 %

A fully transparent, all‐metal‐oxide neuromorphic transistor using a sodium‐embedded alumina (SEA) electrolyte is demonstrated. By precisely tuning the thermal annealing process, the chemical composition of the SEA layer is controlled, allowing for the deterministic realization of both short‐term and long‐term synaptic plasticity within the same device

Magnetic stimulation of mammalian peripheral nerves in vivo: An alternative to functional electrical stimulation [PDF]
pre-printFunctional electrical stimulation is the current gold standard for stimulating neuronal interfaces for functional neuromuscular and cortical applications, but it is not without its drawbacks.

Upper-limb exercise in tetraplegia using functional electrical stimulation [PDF]
Cervical spinal cord injury can result in dysfunction in both the lower and upper limbs (tetraplegia), andmay be accompanied by a range of secondary complications. The degree of upper-limb dysfunctiondepends upon the level and completeness of the lesion;
