Simulation of electrical trees in XLPE cable insulation and electric field analysis

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2018
To understand the non-breakdown phenomenon during the accelerating electrical tree ageing in cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) cable insulation, the non-breakdown mechanism of electrical tree is investigated in this study.

All-electrical time-resolved spin generation and spin manipulation in n-InGaAs

open access: yes, 2013
We demonstrate all-electrical spin generation and subsequent manipulation by two successive electric field pulses in an n-InGaAs heterostructure in a time-resolved experiment at zero external magnetic field.

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Improvement of thermoelectric, hardness, and strength properties with Cu exchange in Zn-based ternary alloy

open access: yesKuwait Journal of Science
The electrical properties, hardness, and strength of the Zn-based ternary alloys were determined based on their microstructural properties. Formation and microstructural analyses were performed on Cu5Zn8, Al4Cu9, and Cu3Al intermetallic phases.

Circuit analog of quadratic optomechanics

open access: yes, 2014
We propose a superconducting electrical circuit that simulates a quadratic optomechanical system. A capacitor placed between two transmission-line (TL) resonators acts like a semi-transparent membrane, and a superconducting quantum interference device ...

Resistance Rapid Heating of Aluminum Coatings in an Extreme High Vacuum–Adequate Atmosphere for Hot Stamping

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The subject of this work is the development of a corrosion‐protective coating on steel sheets for form hardening. Rapid heating in an extreme high vacuum (XHV)‐adequate atmosphere is a useful method to prevent oxidation during alloying of 22MnB5 and aluminum to obtain a metallurgical bonding.

Unveiling high performance insulating properties of epoxy- oyster shell nanoparticles composites for high-voltage applications

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Polymeric materials are progressively taking the place of ceramic materials in insulators for high voltage transmission as a result of their disadvantages, such as their high weight, weak mechanical strength, and challenging manufacturing processes.
