SELF-TUNING FUZZY CONTROL OF ELECTRO-HYDRAULIC SERVO SYSTEM

open access: yesProceedings of the JFPS International Symposium on Fluid Power, 1996
This study deals with a self-tuning fuzzy controller (STFC) when it is applied to an electro-hydraulic servo system. The STFC has a hierarchic structure consisting of an algorithm being identical to a fuzzy controller at the lower loop, and a tuning algorithm accommodating the performance evaluation and parameter modification function at the upper loop.

Advanced Functional Materials for Marine Energy Utilization

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Materials, EarlyView.
Marine renewable energy is an important future clean energy supply. We construct and sort out the material system for marine energy capture and conversion, transmission, storage, and utilization for the first time. ABSTRACT Several features of marine energy, including large reserves, sustainable utilization, environmental friendliness, make it a ...

Evaluating the sustainability of mineral water consumption using multi‐scale hydrogeophysics in Caxambu, Brazil

open access: yesNear Surface Geophysics, EarlyView.
Abstract A better understanding of the near‐surface aquifer system of the Caxambu Water Park, located in the Minas Gerais State, Brazil, has been achieved. The study aimed to identify groundwater reservoirs and flow patterns and contribute to the hydrogeological conceptual model using a multi‐scale geophysical approach.

Highly Dynamic Soft Electrohydraulic Origami Actuators for Agile and Multimodal Robotic Locomotion

open access: yesSmartBot, EarlyView.
Most current soft robots still lag far behind their natural counterparts in both agility and speed, mainly attributed to the limited morphing modes and performance of soft actuators. Here, the authors report a new methodology of electrohydraulic origami (EHO) for creating powerful and multimodal soft actuators with large strain, high speed, lightweight,

Evaluation of prestress losses in concrete beams using destructive and non‐destructive methods

open access: yesStructural Concrete, EarlyView.
Abstract Over the past few decades, prestressing techniques have become essential in the construction of key structures, infrastructure, and bridges. The serviceability and safety of prestressed concrete (PC) elements are closely tied to the effectiveness of the prestressing process.

Characteristics and operational control strategies of grid‐forming long‐/short‐duration energy storage systems: A review

open access: yesEnergy Conversion and Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Energy storage systems (ESSs) are increasingly critical for maintaining the stability and flexibility in power systems with rising renewable penetration. Grid‐forming (GFM) ESSs have emerged as a pivotal technology, capable of providing essential voltage and frequency support by establishing grid references in converter‐dominated systems. This
