Hypocapnia Alone Fails to Provoke Important Electrocardiogram Changes in Coronary Artery Diseased Patients

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2020
BackgroundThere is still an urgent clinical need to develop non-invasive diagnostic tests for early ischemic heart disease because, once angina occurs, it is too late. Hypocapnia has long been known to cause coronary artery vasoconstriction.

Data Augmentation for Electrocardiogram Classification with Deep Neural Network [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Electrocardiogram (ECG) is the most crucial monitoring modality to diagnose cardiovascular events. Precise and automatic detection of abnormal ECG patterns is beneficial to both physicians and patients. In the automatic detection of abnormal ECG patterns, deep neural networks (DNNs) have shown significant achievements.

Association between handgrip strength and hypertension in children and adolescents: an analysis of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey 2011–2014

open access: yesFrontiers in Pediatrics
AimHandgrip strength (HGS), a measure of muscle strength, has been reported to be associated with the risk of hypertension in adults. This study intended to assess the relationship of relative HGS (rHGS) and HGS asymmetry ratio with elevated blood ...

Problems of representation of electrocardiograms in convolutional neural networks [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Using electrocardiograms as an example, we demonstrate the characteristic problems that arise when modeling one-dimensional signals containing inaccurate repeating pattern by means of standard convolutional networks. We show that these problems are systemic in nature.

Open-source software for generating electrocardiogram signals [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2004
ECGSYN, a dynamical model that faithfully reproduces the main features of the human electrocardiogram (ECG), including heart rate variability, RR intervals and QT intervals is presented. Details of the underlying algorithm and an open-source software implementation in Matlab, C and Java are described.

Probabilistic learning of the Purkinje network from the electrocardiogram [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
The identification of the Purkinje conduction system in the heart is a challenging task, yet essential for a correct definition of cardiac digital twins for precision cardiology. Here, we propose a probabilistic approach for identifying the Purkinje network from non-invasive clinical data such as the standard electrocardiogram (ECG).

Cardiac Organoid Model Inspired Micro‐Robot Smart Patch to Treat Myocardial Infarction

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The heart organoid model exhibits the acidic microenvironment characteristic of myocardial infarction, which emerges as a pivotal force propelling the movement of micro‐robots. These micro‐robots, administered through microneedles, can penetrate deep into the tissue, effectively delivering therapeutic payloads to facilitate heart repair.
