An Engineered Living Material With Pro‐Angiogenic Activity Inducible by Near‐Infrared Light
NIR‐responsive engineered living materials (ELMs) for controlled angiogenesis: Near‐infrared (800 nm) light activates engineered probiotic bacteria within alginate‐based living materials to secrete a blood vessel‐regenerating protein. The released protein promotes pro‐angiogenic effects in endothelial networks and chick chorioallantoic membranes.

An uncommon ECG manifestation of normal pacemaker function
A presumed abnormal electrocardiogram (ECG) was obtained from an asymptomatic patient with a pacemaker. Systematic evaluation of the ECG revealed that the artifact was due to a physiological sensor in the pacemaker which was displayed when the enhanced ...

An evaluation of planarity of the spatial QRS loop by three dimensional vectorcardiography: its emergence and loss [PDF]
Aims: To objectively characterize and mathematically justify the observation that vectorcardiographic QRS loops in normal individuals are more planar than those from patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).

Highly Reliable Key Generation From Electrocardiogram (ECG)
Traditional passwords are inadequate as cryptographic keys, as they are easy to forge and are vulnerable to guessing. Human biometrics have been proposed as a promising alternative due to their intrinsic nature. Electrocardiogram (ECG) is an emerging biometric that is extremely difficult to forge and circumvent, but has not yet been heavily ...
