Selective Electrocatalytic Oxidation of Sorbitol to Fructose and Sorbose

ChemSusChem, 2014
AbstractA new electrocatalytic method for the selective electrochemical oxidation of sorbitol to fructose and sorbose is demonstrated by using a platinum electrode promoted by p‐block metal atoms. By the studying a range of C4, C5 and C6 polyols, it is found that the promoter interferes with the stereochemistry of the polyol and thereby modifies its ...

Hydrothermal electrocatalytic oxidation for the treatment of herbicides wastewater

Environmental Science and Pollution Research, 2016
A hydrothermal electrocatalytic oxidation (HTECO) method is adopted to treat the biorefractory and toxic 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D) herbicides wastewater on nano-Pt/Ti electrode in the existence of H2O2. Comparisons for the removal of 2,4-D and total organic carbon (TOC) have been carried out between HTECO with individual electrochemical ...

Electrocatalytic Water Oxidation by a Tetranuclear Copper Complex

ChemPlusChem, 2016
AbstractA novel tetranuclear copper‐based water oxidation catalyst was designed and synthesized by using a new multinucleating ligand containing two proton dissociation sites, 1,3‐bis(6‐hydroxy‐2‐pyridyl)‐1H‐pyrazole. The copper complex showed electrocatalytic activity for water oxidation reactions under aqueous basic conditions (pH 12.5) with an ...

Carbohydrates electrocatalytic oxidation using CNT–NiCo-oxide modified electrodes

Talanta, 2011
A new sensor for an amplified electrochemical detection of carbohydrates is proposed, where carbohydrates are oxidized by CNT-NiCo-oxide composite in basic solutions. Cyclic voltammograms of the modified electrode show a stable and well defined redox couple in alkaline media due to the synergy of Ni(II)/Ni(III) system with Co(II)/Co(III).

Influence of nitrogen oxides on the electrocatalytic oxidation of sulphur dioxide

Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 1992
The electrocatalytic oxidation of sulphur dioxide in the presence of nitrogen oxides (NOx) on active carbon catalysed with pyrolized cobalt phthalocyanine (CoPc) was investigated. It is shown that NOx block the catalyst surface without undergoing any electrochemical changes.

Mechanism of Electrocatalytic Reduction of Nitric Oxide on Pt(100)

The Journal of Physical Chemistry B, 2005
The mechanism of electrocatalytic reduction of nitric oxide on Pt(100)-(1 x 1) in acidic media has been studied using voltammetry, in-situ infrared spectroscopy, and on-line mass spectroscopy, considering the effect of surface defects, NO coverage, and the nature of the supporting electrolyte (sulfate vs perchlorate).

Kinetics of the Electrocatalytic Oxidation of 2,2-Dimethylolpropionaldehyde

Journal of Solution Chemistry, 2008
A new method of synthesis 2,2-dimethylolpropionic acid from 2,2-dimethylolpropionaldehyde was put forward. The electrochemical oxidation behavior of 2,2-dimethylolpropionaldehyde has been investigated on a Ti/SnO2 + Sb2O4/PbO2 electrode by cyclic voltammetry (CV) and stable polarization curves in sulfuric acid.
