Vertical GaN p–n diode with deeply etched mesas by contactless photo-electrochemical etching

open access: yesApplied Physics Express
GaN p–n diodes were fabricated by contactless photo-electrochemical (PEC) etching, and their electrical characteristics were evaluated. A high vertical etching rate of 80 nm min ^−1 , which is usable for device fabrication etching processes, was achieved

A Geometrically Transient Platform for Bioelectronic Implants

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Minimally invasive bioelectronic implants often compromise performance for smaller sizes. To resolve this optimization dilemma, a wireless bioelectronic implant with a transient geometry is introduced (MiFi). The origami‐inspired device miniaturizes up to sixfold for syringe insertion and autonomously unfolds post‐implantation.

Reliable and Reusable All‐Solid‐State Contact‐Type Pre‐Lithiation Platform for High‐Performance All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A reusable contact‐type pre‐lithiation platform enables uniform, precisely controllable pre‐lithiation at low stack pressure, suppressing interfacial degradation and thereby markedly improving initial Coulombic efficiency and cycling performance in all‐solid‐state batteries.

Specific features of electrochemical polishing etch of single crystal silicon in a non-oxidizing etching agent

open access: yesТонкие химические технологии, 2012
Specific features of the electrochemical etching of single crystal n- and p-type silicon in a non-oxidizing etching reagent (< 12 vol. % of HF) were studied. Pulsation of voltage-time dependence of etching was found. The obtained results are explained

Operation Limits of Integrated Photo‐Rechargeable Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study elucidates the operational limitations of integrated photo‐rechargeable batteries. We demonstrate that the photo‐charging process is fundamentally restricted not only by material‐to‐material energy level alignment but also by transient capacitive charge accumulation within the cathode framework.

Fluorinated Deep Eutectic Gel Electrolytes with Simultaneously Enhanced Mechanical Strength and Ionic Conductivity for Solid‐State Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The synergistic integration of rigid polyacrylamide (PAM) and flexible poly(N,N‐dimethylacrylamide) (PDMA) phases offers exceptional toughness to suppress lithium dendrites, simultaneously enhancing mechanical strength and ionic conductivity. ABSTRACT Gel polymer electrolytes for lithium‐metal batteries face an inherent trade‐off between mechanical ...

Ferrous Pyrophosphate Hollow Nanorods Enable Lithium Metal Batteries Under Low Negative/Positive Capacity Ratios

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
N‐doped carbon‐coated ferrous pyrophosphate (Fe2P2O7@NC) hollow nanorods are rationally synthesized through a self‐template method. The Fe2P2O7@NC hollow nanorods facilitate uniform Li deposition as a Li host by generating LiF on the electrode/electrolyte interface, and form Li2O in the bulk phase of the electrode.
