Mechano-electrochemical milling (MECM) is a promising method to machine TC4 titanium alloy as it combines electrochemical machining (ECM) and conventional milling (CM). However, prior studies on the interaction between ECM and CM are few, lacking in-depth understanding of the material removal behavior of MECM. Therefore, the interaction between ECM and

Electrochemical Properties and Electrochemical Milling of (TiB + TiC)/TC4 Composites
Journal of The Electrochemical Society, 2022The (TiB + TiC)/TC4 composite is a new material with superior high-temperature resistance properties and structural strength. However, it cannot be easily machined by conventional methods. Electrochemical machining is an ideal method for the processing of titanium-matrix composites. In this study, the electrochemical properties of (

In this paper, electrochemical machining (ECM) for fabricating micro structures is presented. By applying ultra short pulses, dissolution of a workpiece can be restricted to the region very close to an electrode. Using this method, 3D micro structures were machined on stainless steel.

Research on Micro Electrochemical Milling
Key Engineering Materials, 2008A new process of fabricating microstructures through micro electrochemical milling (micro EC milling) is proposed. By utilizing side wall of simple micro tool electrode rotating at high speed like micro mechanical milling and controlling the movement track on NC three-axis feed worktable, microstructures with high precision can be milled by micro-ECM ...

Electrochemical and microbiological characterization of paper mill biofilms
Biofouling, 2010Biofilm samples collected from inside and outside the press and former sections of paper machines in a Northwestern Ontario paper mill for a period of 2 years were characterized microbiologically and electrochemically. Bacterial community profiling was done using polymerase chain reaction-denaturing gradient gel electrophoresis (PCR-DGGE) and selected ...

Electrochemical oxidation of olive oil mill wastewaters
Water Research, 2005The electrochemical oxidation of olive oil mill wastewaters over a titanium-tantalum-platinum-iridium anode was investigated. Batch experiments were conducted in a flow-through electrolytic cell with internal recycle at voltage of 5, 7 and 9 V, NaCl concentrations of 1%, 2% and 4%, recirculation rates of 0.4 and 0.62 L/s and initial chemical oxygen ...

Electrochemical mineralization of anaerobically digested olive mill wastewater
Water Research, 2012A novel approach was developed for the energetic valorisation and treatment of olive mill wastewater (OMW), combining anaerobic digestion and electrochemical oxidation. The electrochemical treatment was proposed as the final step to mineralize the remaining OMW fraction from the anaerobic reactor.

Morphology, crystallinity and electrochemical properties of Si powders fabricated by a mechanical milling process with milling time of 6-40 h were investigated by means of FESEM, XRD, Raman, TEM and cell test. Average size of Si powders was reduced to sub-micrometer scale after 10 h-milling and 40 nm-Si powders could be obtained at 48 h-milling.
