Generation of Stepped Profiles on Ti6Al4V by Electrochemical Milling

Journal of The Institution of Engineers (India): Series C, 2019
Generation of accurate complex-shaped products on various high-strength temperature-resistant (HSTR) alloys such as titanium and nickel alloys is a key feature for many kinds of machine parts widely used in diverse industries starting from biomedical to defence industries. Being free of tool wear, thermal stresses and residual stresses, electrochemical

Experimental and numerical investigations in electro-chemical milling

CIRP Journal of Manufacturing Science and Technology, 2016
This paper presents experimental and numerical investigations into electro-chemical (EC) milling of simple features such as slots and pockets. Preliminary experimental investigations into the machining of a slot enabled appropriate process parameters to be selected; these were then used to machine a simple square pocket and finally a pocket with a ...

Electrochemical properties of LiFePO4 prepared via ball-milling

Journal of Power Sources, 2009
Abstract LiFePO4 cathode materials with distinct particle sizes were prepared by a planetary ball-milling method. The effects of particle size on the morphology, thermal stability and electrochemical performance of LiFePO4 cathode materials were investigated.

Fabrication of nanosized metallic copper by electrochemical milling process

Journal of Materials Science, 2007
Using a copper oxide powder of micrometer size as the starting electrode material in CuO/Li cells, copper oxide (CuO) can be electrochemically reduced into metal particles of smaller sizes in a controllable way. A novel electrochemical milling (ECM) method is developed for a “top–down” synthesis of nanometer-scaled metal particles.

Structure and electrochemical property of ball-milled Ti0.26Zr0.07Mn0.1Ni0.33V0.24 alloy

Materials Chemistry and Physics, 2009
Abstract In present study, high-energy ball-milling (HEBM) is used in order to improve the cyclic stability and other electrochemical properties of Ti0.26Zr0.07Mn0.1Ni0.33V0.24 alloy. The effect of the milling time on crystallographic and electrochemical characteristics of the alloy has been investigated systematically.

Ball milling synthesis of LixTiP4: Improvement of the electrochemical performances

Ionics, 2003
While promising performance as a negative electrode in Li-ion batteries, with flat voltage profiles at about 1 V and large specific capacities, today’s drawback with LixTiP4 materials is the difficulty encountered in preparing single-phase powders. To alleviate this issue, new synthetic routes have been investigated and we present here our results ...

Experimental Investigations on C-263 Alloy by Electrochemical Milling

The International Journal of Advanced Manufacturing Technology, 2019
Electrochemical machining has great potential of machining of any HSTR metals due to its various advantages like free of tool wear, thermal, and residual stresses. The process of electrochemical milling is similar to conventional electrochemical machining (ECM).

The effect of solids on the electrochemical treatment of olive mill effluents

Journal of Chemical Technology & Biotechnology, 2007
AbstractThe electrochemical oxidation of an olive mill effluent over Ti–Pt anodes was studied. The effluent had an average total chemical oxygen demand (COD) value of 234 g L−1, soluble COD of 61 g L−1, soluble phenolic content 3.4 g L−1, total solids of 80 g L−1 and pH = 5.1.

An electrochemical study of corrosive wear of phosphate grinding mill

Journal of Applied Electrochemistry, 2006
The corrosion of metallic grinding media and mill liner is a very significant problem, particularly under acidic conditions as encountered in the Florida phosphate fertilizer industry. Approximately half of grinding media wear results from corrosion or oxidation dissolution of metal surfaces.
