Tetrathiapentalenes: chemical and electrochemical polymerization

Electrochemical Polymerization of Methylene Green
Chinese Journal of Chemistry, 2001AbstractThe electrochemical polymerization of methylene green has been carried out using cyclic voltammetry. The electrolytic solution consisted of 4° 10−3 mol/L methylene green, 0.1 mol/L NaNO3 and 1 × 10−2 mol/L sodium tetraborate with pH 11.0. The temperature for polymerization is controlled at 60°C. The scan potential is set between −0.2 and 1.2 V (

Electrochemical polymerization of substituted thiophenes
Makromolekulare Chemie. Macromolecular Symposia, 1989AbstractThe electrochemical polymerization of 3‐(n‐butyl)thiophene and of several 3‐ or 3,4‐ substituted α, α'‐terthienyls is described and the properties of the conducting polymers are discussed. A solution in acetonitrile of the terthienyl substituted by a potassium propylsulfonate group is polymerizable as such, and the polymer is the first proven ...

Electrochemical Polymerization of Pyrrole Derivatives
Molecular Crystals and Liquid Crystals Incorporating Nonlinear Optics, 1988Abstract Electrochemical copolymerization of pyrrole and 3-(6-ferrocenyl-6-hydroxyhexyl)pyrrole (P-Fc) yields a ferrocene functionalized polypyrrole with a controlled amount of ferrocene functionalization. Similarly, copolymers of pyrrole and 3-(4-(2,5-dimethoxyphenyl)butyl)pyrrole (P-MP) can be made by electrochemical polymerization and converted to ...

Electrochemical polymerization of 3-phenylthiophene
Journal of Electroanalytical Chemistry, 2004Abstract Poly (3-phenylthiophene) (P3PhT) films have been electrochemically synthesized by direct oxidation of 3-phenylthiophene in the electrolyte of pure boron trifluoride diethyl etherate (BFEE). The oxidation potential of the monomer was measured to be 1.29 V (vs. SCE), and about 0.15 V lower than that measured in a neutral medium of acetonitrile.

Electrochemical polymerization of 3‐octylpyrrole
Journal of Polymer Science Part A: Polymer Chemistry, 1990AbstractElectrochemical polymerization of 3‐octylpyrrole (OCPY) yielded a film on the anode. Its conductivity was 5 S/cm. Infrared spectra of OCPY and poly(3‐octylpyrrole) (POCPY) were compared with those of related monomers and polymers, and as a result, the pyrrole rings appeared quite likely linked at 2‐ and 5‐positions. Cyclic voltammograms of a PF–

Electrochemical polymerization of pyrrole on a fabric
Die Angewandte Makromolekulare Chemie, 1989AbstractAn electrochemical method for polymerizing pyrrole on a glass fabric without using metal anode to give a polypyrrole/fabric composite is proposed. The glass fabric is precoated with a thin layer of polypyrrole polymerized by use of ferric chloride as oxidizing agent. Morphological change during the polymerization is also reported.
