Scalable Fabrication of Height‐Variable Microstructures with a Revised Wetting Model

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Height‐variable microstructures are fabricated using a scalable CO2 laser machining approach, enabling precise control of wettability through structural gradients. Classical wetting models fail to capture height‐induced effects, necessitating a revised theoretical framework.

Silver Amalgam Nanoparticles and Microparticles: A Novel Plasmonic Platform for Spectroelectrochemistry [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Plasmonic nanoparticles from unconventional materials can improve or even bring some novel functionalities into the disciplines inherently related to plasmonics such as photochemistry or (spectro)electrochemistry. They can, for example, catalyze various chemical reactions or act as nanoelectrodes and optical transducers in various applications.

Tribology of ZrC Coatings and Spherical Tips Acquired with Extraordinarily Stiff, Metal Atomic Force Microscopy Probes

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
In this research, ZrC coatings are evaluated against various counterprobes at the microscale using novel super‐stiff atomic force microscopy cantilevers. The chemical composition of the coating is shown to be an important factor influencing coating hardness and Young's modulus, while surface roughness, counterprobe hardness, and surface energy are the ...

Regio-selective substitution at the 1,3- and 6,8-positions of pyrene for the construction of small dipolar molecules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
© 2015 American Chemical Society. This article presents a novel asymmetrical functionalization strategy for the construction of dipolar molecules via efficient regioselective functionalization along the Z-axis of pyrene at both the 1,3- and 6,8-positions.

Electro-chemical manifestation of nanoplasmonics in fractal media [PDF]

open access: yesCent. Eur. J. Phys. 11(6) 2013 676-684, 2015
Electrodynamics of composite materials with fractal geometry is studied in the framework of fractional calculus. This consideration establishes a link between fractal geometry of the media and fractional integro-differentiation. The photoconductivity in the vicinity of the electrode-electrolyte fractal interface is studied.
