FEATURES OF THE ELECTROCHROMIUM EFFECT IN COMPLEX TRANSITION METAL OXIDES
Some features of electrochromically sensitive single crystals and thin films of the complex transition metal oxides are reviewed. Based on the results of studies that allow us to draw conclusions about specific models of the physical process underlying ...

Electrochromic effect of nanostructured WO3 bulk
WO3 films are well known for the change of their color through electro, photo and thermochromism. We report here that the nanostructured WO3 bulk has an obvious electrochromic effect, which does not exist in ordinary WO3 bulk. The sample turns to a deep blue color upon changing from anode to cathode when external voltage is applied.

Substituent and heteroatom effects on the electrochromic properties of similar systems
AbstractElectrochromic polymers called poly(3,4‐dihydro‐3,3‐bis ((naphthalen‐1‐yl)methyl)‐2H‐thieno[3,4‐b][1,4]dioxepine) (PProDOT‐Np2), poly(3,3‐dibenzyl‐3,4‐dihydro‐2H‐selenopheno[3,4‐b][1,4]dioxepine), and poly(3,3‐dibenzyl‐3,4‐dihydro‐2H‐thieno[3,4‐b][1,4]dioxepine) were synthesized electrochemically and the effect of substituents and heteroatoms ...

Electrochromic effects from a simple commercial polymer membrane
Abstract A simple commercial polyester polymer membrane has been found to exhibit an intense electrochromic effect. Most polymers which undergo electrochromic effects contain either transition metals or extensive conjugated systems. We have found that a simple commercial polyester membrane when coated with gold and polarised to −4 V (versus Ag) in ...
