Thermally Induced Electroconvection [PDF]
The combined effects of a thermal gradient and a dc electric field upon a poorly conducting fluid are used to induce steady convection. A vertically directed temperature gradient is used to establish an electrical conductivity gradient over the rectangular cross section of a liquid-filled channel.

Design and Operation of Hybrid Microfluidic Iontronic Probes for Regulated Drug Delivery
A hybrid microfluidic iontronic drug delivery probe that uses liquid flow for long‐range transport in combination with an iontronic tip to provide electronically fine‐tuned pressure‐free delivery is demonstrated. Based on computational and experimental investigation, key design principles for iontronic devices are outlined that seek to use the ...

Finite amplitude electroconvection induced by strong unipolar injection between two coaxial cylinders [PDF]
We perform a theoretical and numerical study of the Coulomb-driven electroconvection flow of a dielectric liquid between two coaxial cylinders. The specific case where the inner to outer diameter ratio is 0.5 is analyzed.

Characterization of Chaotic Electroconvection near Flat Inert Electrodes under Oscillatory Voltages
The onset of electroconvective instability in an aqueous binary electrolyte under external oscillatory electric fields at a single constant frequency is investigated in a 2D parallel flat electrode setup. Direct numerical simulations (DNS) of the Poisson&

Numerical investigation of spatially periodic rolls structures of liquid dielectrics isothermal electro-convection in a plane-parallel electrode system [PDF]
Isothermal electroconvection in a dielectric liquid arising in a plane-parallel electrode system due to unipolar injection of charges from the cathode is considered. Spatially periodic rolls structures stability is investigated.

Transient power dynamics in nematic electroconvection
We have observed the transient dynamics in nematic electroconvection during a sudden change in the driving voltage. The steady state dynamics of nematic electroconvection during a constant driving voltage are well characterized examples of spatiotemporal chaos, and thus are useful for the study of chaotic transients.
