Iron Energy Carrier: Experimental Characterisation, Combustion Diagnostic and Benchmarking with Other Clean Metal Fuels

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 8, Page 3862-3877, August 2026.
This study investigates how iron particles burn across a wide size range, revealing late‐stage nanoparticle release and a previously unrecognised shift in combustion behaviour near 118 µm. High‐speed imaging, PMT diagnostics and SEM analyses have been conducted.

Bi-exponential model and inverse model of magnetorheological damper for the semi-active suspension of a capsule vehicle

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 2023
The capsule vehicle is a new transportation system that travels in a sub-vacuum tunnel at a speed of about 1000 km/h, and adopts the electrodynamic suspension type levitation system.

Third Harmonic Generation in Transparent Longitudinal Epsilon‐Near‐Zero Multilayers

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 14, 27 July 2026.
Transparent longitudinal epsilon‐near‐zero stacks enable field‐enhanced nonlinear light generation while preserving high near‐infrared pump transmission. Broadband third‐harmonic generation is experimentally observed demonstrating that TLENZ architectures can mitigate pump‐loss limitations and offer a promising platform for transparent nonlinear ...

Electromagnetic drag forces between HTS magnet and tube infrastructure for hyperloop

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Maglevs are typically accelerated using electromagnetic propulsion and levitation. High-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets along with electrodynamic suspension (EDS) and linear synchronous motors are one of the best options for Hyperloop. However,

Simulation of electrodynamic suspension systems for levitating vehicles. I. modelling of electromagnetic behaviour of maglev vehicles with electrodynamic suspension

open access: yesВестник Санкт-Петербургского университета. Серия 10. Прикладная математика. Информатика. Процессы управления, 2014
An original computational technique, aimed at electromagnetic analysis of devices for particle physics and fusion applications, has been adapted to simulation of the magnetic levitation (maglev) transport. The paper describes modelling approaches and their implementation.

Femtosecond‐Laser Mould Texturing Enables Tunable Biointerfaces in COC Microfluidics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 13, Issue 13, 7 July 2026.
Femtosecond‐laser texturing of injection‐mould inserts enables scalable engineering of biointerfaces in cyclic olefin copolymer microfluidics. Replicated micro‐ and nano‐topographies modulate surface roughness and wettability, leading to texture‐dependent protein adsorption and cell adhesion without chemical post‐processing.

Numerical Analysis for Dynamic Instability of Electrodynamic Maglev Systems

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 1995
Suspension instabilities in an electrodynamic maglev system with three- and five-degrees-of-freedom DOF vehicles traveling on a double L-shaped set of guideway conductors were investigated with various experimentally measured magnetic force data ...

Electromagnetic Response of Two Interacting Topological Insulator Spheres in External Fields

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 538, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT We study the static electromagnetic response of two spherical topological insulators embedded in a dielectric medium and subjected to a uniform external electric field. The gapped surface states are described by a piecewise constant axion field, which induces a topological magnetoelectric coupling localized at the spherical interfaces.

Large, Long‐Lasting Mid‐Latitude Geomagnetically Induced Currents During a Moderate Geomagnetic Storm

open access: yesSpace Weather, Volume 24, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Geomagnetically Induced Currents (GICs) are a key space weather hazard to ground‐based infrastructure, and can cause mis‐operation or even equipment failure. The solar wind interacts with the Earth's geomagnetic field, causing the magnetic field at ground level to vary with time.
