A prototype of an energy-efficient MAGLEV train: A step towards cleaner train transport

open access: yesCleaner Engineering and Technology, 2021
The magnetic levitation (MAGLEV) train uses magnetic field to suspend, guide, and propel vehicle onto the track. The MAGLEV train provides a sustainable and cleaner solution for train transportation by significantly reducing the energy usage and ...

Geometry‐Controlled Assembly of Self‐Standing Nanorods With Undisturbed Plasmonics

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reports a geometry‐driven assembly strategy to vertically align Au@Ag core–shell nanorods on PS beads. This well‐defined architecture enables the preservation of the intrinsic optical response of individual nanorods. Thus, demonstrate a highly reproducible SERS enhancement with exceptional uniformity.

Bi-exponential model and inverse model of magnetorheological damper for the semi-active suspension of a capsule vehicle

open access: yesMeasurement + Control, 2023
The capsule vehicle is a new transportation system that travels in a sub-vacuum tunnel at a speed of about 1000 km/h, and adopts the electrodynamic suspension type levitation system.

Iron Energy Carrier: Experimental Characterisation, Combustion Diagnostic and Benchmarking with Other Clean Metal Fuels

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study investigates how iron particles burn across a wide size range, revealing late‐stage nanoparticle release and a previously unrecognised shift in combustion behaviour near 118 µm. High‐speed imaging, PMT diagnostics and SEM analyses have been conducted.

Velocity estimation on an active suspension for a translational electrodynamic maglev system

open access: yes, 2023
The concept of Hyperloop was proposed over a decade ago. Since then, numerous efforts have focused on improving this technology towards commercial applications. Although promising, the electrodynamic levi-tation system is inherently unstable.

Electromagnetic drag forces between HTS magnet and tube infrastructure for hyperloop

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Maglevs are typically accelerated using electromagnetic propulsion and levitation. High-temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets along with electrodynamic suspension (EDS) and linear synchronous motors are one of the best options for Hyperloop. However,

Interaction Between Vortex‐Induced Vibrations and Base Vibrations in Piezoelectric Harvesters

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mechanical System Dynamics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT In the present era, powering sensors using green energy is a significant challenge. One promising solution for the power supply of small sensors relies on piezoelectric energy harvesters excited by vortex‐induced vibrations (VIVs) generated by wind.
