Mapping of the West Yakut barrier reef in the junction zone of the Vilyui syneclise and Aldan anteclise using electro-facies analysis

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Нефть и газ, 2021
The aim of the study was to test the method of electro-facies analysis for mapping reef structures in the conditions of the junction of the Vilyui syneclise and Aldan anteclise.

Evaluation of hydraulic conductivity in shallow groundwater formations: a comparative study of the Csókás’ and Kozeny–Carman model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The Kozeny–Carman equation has achieved widespread use as a standard model for estimating hydraulic conductivity of aquifers. An empirically modified form applicable in shallow formations called Csókás’ formula is discussed, which is based on the ...

Evaluating the potential of carbonate sub-facies classification using NMR longitudinal over transverse relaxation time ratio [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
While the well log-based lithology classification has been extensively utilized in reservoir characterization, the classification of carbonate sub-facies remains challenging due to the subtle nuances in conventional well-logs.

Deltas: New paradigms

open access: yesThe Depositional Record, Volume 10, Issue 5, Page 600-636, November 2024.
This paper discusses some new paradigms concerning the origin and significance of deltas and their deposits. It proposes a broader definition of deltas that takes into account the importance of sediment‐laden fluvial discharges in controlling deltaic sedimentation.

Integrated petrophysical study to validate water saturation from well logs in Bahariya Shaley Sand Reservoirs, case study from Abu Gharadig Basin, Egypt

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2020
Water saturation is a key parameter in evaluating oil and gas reservoirs and calculating OIIP and GIIP for petroleum fields. The late Cretaceous Bahariya reservoir contains variable amounts of clay minerals.

Late Miocene sedimentary record of the Danube / Kisalföld Basin: interregional correlation of depositional systems, stratigraphy and structural evolution [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The Danube / Kisalföld Basin is the north-western sub-basin of the Pannonian Basin System. The lithostratigraphic subdivision of the several-km-thick Upper Miocene to Pliocene sedimentary succession related to Lake Pannon has been developed ...

Field Investigation of Serpentinite With Induced Polarization and the K‐Means Clustering Technique

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 51, Issue 18, 28 September 2024.
Abstract We performed a field induced polarization survey at Rocher du Chateau in the French Alps. This site is characterized by the presence of ophiolites with an outcrop of serpentinites. Serpentinite is characterized by high resistivity (∼0.5–10 kΩ m) and high chargeability (∼20–400 mV V−1) values.

Seismic expression of miocene carbonate platform and reservoir characterization through geophysical approach: application in central Luconia, offshore Malaysia

open access: yesJournal of Petroleum Exploration and Production Technology, 2021
A substantial proportion of proven oil and gas reserves of the world is contained in the carbonate reservoir. It is estimated that about 60% of the world’s oil and 40% of gas reserves are confined in carbonate reservoirs.

Reservoir Quality, Lithotype Assessment, and Geochemical Source Rock Analysis: Insights from Well Logs and Pyrolysis Data, Karama Field, North‐Western Desert, Egypt

open access: yesGeofluids, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
Reservoir characteristics and source rock geochemistry are essential for petroleum system investigation as they reveal reservoir quality and hydrocarbon generation capability, respectively. The primary Karama oil field reservoir of Abu El Gharadig Basin is the limestone‐sand‐shale Abu Roash G (AR/G) Member.
