Evidence for electronic and ionic limitations at the origin of the second voltage plateau in nickel electrodes, as deduced from impedance spectroscopy measurements [PDF]
The second plateau occurring during the reduction of the nickel oxyhydroxide electrode (NOE) was studied by impedance spectroscopy on a cell with a pasted electrode prepared from commercial undoped -Ni(OH)2.

Performances of Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors Using Silica Organo-Sols as Electrolyte Additives
100V aluminum electrolytic capacitors with high performance are strongly demanded from the market. Silica or aluminosilicate ethylene glycol sols in combination with three kinds of organo-phosphorous acids were added into a quaternary alkylammonium salt-based electrolyte solution to increase its sustaining voltage while keeping its high electrolytic ...

Atomic Size Misfit for Electrocatalytic Small Molecule Activation
This review explores the application and mechanisms of atomic size misfit in catalysis for small molecule activation, focusing on how structural defects and electronic properties can effectively lower the energy barriers of chemical bonds in molecules like H2O, CO2, and N2.

This work demonstrates the successful integration of a phenanthroline‐based 2D COF with MnI catalytic sites into a catholyte‐free membrane‐electrode‐assembly cell for CO2 electroreduction. The crystalline COF actively suppresses Mn⁰–Mn⁰ dimerization, achieving a turnover frequency of 617 h⁻¹ at 2.8 V (full‐cell potential), and enabling stable operation.

Multistaged discharge constructing heterostructure with enhanced solid-solution behavior for long-life lithium-oxygen batteries. [PDF]
Inferior charge transport in insulating and bulk discharge products is one of the main factors resulting in poor cycling stability of lithium-oxygen batteries with high overpotential and large capacity decay.

By a simple anti‐Galvanic reaction, up to six copper atoms could be preferably doped into the Ag2(SR)5 staple motifs and Ag20 dodecahedral shell of an atomically precise Ag44(SR)30 nanocluster. When anatase TiO2 is used as substrate, the (AgCu)44/TiO2 photocatalyst exhibited much improved activity in photocatalytic CO2 reduction compared to Ag44/TiO2 ...
