Slot Design Of Optimized Electromagnetic Pumps
[1993] Digests of International Magnetics Conference, 1993A nonuniform slot distribution is used to optimize electromagnetic pumps. This geometry is tested with a finite element code. The performances are compared with the regular slot distribution of industrial prototypes. >

The design of solenoid electromagnets
Journal of Scientific Instruments, 1925The design of the electrical portion of a solenoid-operated relay may be divided into two main sections, namely, a consideration of the characteristics of the circuit for the magnetic lines of force and the most efficient solenoid winding to produce the forces suited to the working conditions.

Electromagnetic design of an ICRH system for IGNITOR
Fusion Engineering and Design, 1998Abstract An antenna array is designed for ion cyclotron resonance heating (ICRH) for the IGNITOR experiment, planned to operate in the 70–140 MHz frequency range. The design is based on the conventional strap antenna element, and the coupling properties of the antenna are calculated with a slab model of the plasma.

Electromagnetic Metamaterials—Promises, Design, and Applications
Quantum Matter, 2014Since the year 2000 metamaterials attracted much interest. Fancy metamaterial applications such as the “perfect” Pendry lens and invisibility cloaks provided a boost of electromagnetic research. We outline difficulties associated with metamaterial design and consider metamaterial structures which are promising for industrial applications which will be ...

Electromagnetic wave lenses and reflectors designed with transformation electromagnetics
2014 XXXIth URSI General Assembly and Scientific Symposium (URSI GASS), 2014Lenses and reflectors are common devices in manipulating electromagnetic (EM) wave propagation and are largely utilized in radiation and receiving systems of electromagnetic engineering. The recently proposed significant concept of transformation electromagnetics provided an effective tool to design devices that could control the EM wave with desired ...

Electromagnetic Design Solutions
1990The use of electromagnetic computer codes in industrial environment is first of all dedicated to the design of electric devices. It is also a good way of understanding the phenomena which are the basis of the operation of the device: fields, fluxes... The paper will focuse the analysis of the aspects of computer codes useful for design and optimization

Electromagnetic Design of a New Electromagnetic Planetary-Gear Machine
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2013A novel brushless compound-structure permanent-magnet synchronous machine (CS-PMSM) based on the magnetic field modulation principle is proposed for hybrid electric vehicles. As the key part of the brushless CS-PMSM, the operation principle of the electromagnetic planetary-gear machine (EPGM) is investigated by analytical method.

Investigations On The Electromagnetic Performance Of Alternate Electromagnetic Barrel Designs
Eighth IEEE International Conference on Pulsed Power, 2005This paper presents the results of a comprehensive study performed to examine the effects of different design configurations on the critical design parameters which affect the performance of parallel rail electromagnetic launcher barrels. The configurations investigated were 1. Four different rail-design configurations, 2.

Radomes are enclosures for antennas. Most radomes are hollow dielectric shells although some contain perforated metallic layers or metallic reinforcing structures. Radomes are used with large antennas on the earth’s surface to reduce wind loading and to prevent accumulation of ice or snow; these radomes usually have spherical contours.

Optimisation of electromagnetic design using HPCN
1998The development of HPCN and portable parallel implementations through BSP has encouraged developers and users of electromagnetic design software to address both the “grand challenge” problems and replace analysis of a design with synthesis.
