Design and Analysis of Compression–Torsion Coupling Metamaterials Using the Golden Section Method

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A novel compression–torsion metamaterial is engineered using inclined rods and symmetry breaking. To optimize its torsional performance, the golden section method is employed. The mechanical response of the metamaterial is validated through both numerical analysis and experimental validation.

Enhancement of Electromagnetic Fields Caused by Interacting Subwavelength Cavities [PDF]

open access: yesMultiscale Modeling & Simulation, 2010
This article is devoted to the asymptotic analysis of the electromagnetic elds scattered by a perfectly conducting plane containing two sub-wavelength rectangular cavities. The problem is formulated through an integral equation, and a spectral analysis of the integral operator is performed.

Experimental Analysis of a Directive Antenna with a 3D-EBG Superstrate

open access: yesJournal of Telecommunications and Information Technology, 2017
A three-dimensional electromagnetic crystal is employed as a directivity-enhancing superstrate for planar antennas. The crystal is a woodpile made of alumina rods.

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

An Improved Z-Transform Finite Difference Time Domain Method for Electromagnetic Scattering and Plasma Stealth

open access: yesIEEE Access
The plasma sheath can absorb or reflect electromagnetic waves, thus affecting the communication of hypersonic vehicles. The study of attenuation and enhancement of electromagnetic scattering by plasma is of great significance.

Three‐Dimensional Anomalous Hall Sensing Enabled By Spin–Orbit Torque Driven Domain Reconfiguration In Chiral Multilayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A three‐dimensional magnetic field sensor is realized in chiral W/CoFeB/MgO multilayers, where spin–orbit torques reversibly reconfigure homochiral stripe domains. The symmetry of the torque enables offset‐free in‐plane sensing, while the reproducible domain reconfiguration extends the linear out‐of‐plane range. An anomalous Hall readout delivers large‐

Quantifying Subsurface Weak in‐Plane Magnetization of Mixed Phase BiFeO3 by Scanning Nitrogen Vacancy Magnetometry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We use scanning nitrogen vacancy magnetometry to directly image the weak in‐plane magnetic moments in mixed phase BiFeO3 at the nanoscale and quantify the local magnetic moments to be 18.8±2.0 μB/nm2 in the rhombohedral‐like phase and 1.5±0.6 μB/nm2 in the well‐known non‐magnetic tetragonal‐like phase.

Strong enhancement of electromagnetic shower development induced by high-energy photons in a thick oriented tungsten crystal

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
We have observed a significant enhancement in the energy deposition by 25– $$100~\textrm{GeV}$$ 100 GeV photons in a $$1~\textrm{cm}$$ 1 cm thick tungsten crystal oriented along its $$\langle 111 \rangle $$ ⟨ 111 ⟩ lattice axes.

Development of a Three‐Axis Planar Hall Magnetoresistance Sensor Using a Superparamagnetic Nanoparticle‐Based Flux Guide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A printed superparamagnetic nanoparticle‐based flux guide enables the realization of a hysteresis‐free three‐axis magnetic sensor. This innovative architecture efficiently redirects out‐of‐plane fields to planar sensing elements, facilitating simultaneous vector detection without complex reset protocols.
