Chalcogen Alloy‐Engineered Te2Se/Si Heterojunctions for Low‐Noise Complementary Metal‐Oxide Semiconductor‐Compatible Short‐Wave Infrared Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A Te2Se/Si heterojunction designed through atomistic simulations reduces oxide‐related traps, dark current, and noise compared with pure tellurium devices. This CMOS‐compatible platform enables short‐wave infrared detection and high‐contrast imaging in a 14 × 14 array, highlighting a scalable strategy for robust, low‐noise SWIR photodetectors and image

Coherent Absorption Reveals Colors Hidden in a Grey Fabry–Pérot Cavity

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
A dielectric thin film shows colors depending on its thickness; this effect can be used to encode information normally accessible through single‐beam spectroscopy. We developed a method to conceal this kind of information, based on coating the dielectric with a matched conductor, that suppresses the color‐bearing thin‐film resonances.

Understanding Inhomogeneous Crystallization Dynamics of Phase‐Change Materials in the Vicinity of Metallic Nanoantennas

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Metallic dimer antennas on top of the phase‐change material Ge3Sb2Te6 are addressed with laser pulses, resulting in inhomogeneous crystallization. A self‐consistent multiphysics model is employed to simulate the crystallization and to understand the resulting shift of the antenna resonance.
