Structural Electromagnetic Absorber Based on MoS2 /PyC-Al2 O3 Ceramic Metamaterials.

Small, 2023
Limited by the types of suitable absorbents as well as the challenges in engineering the nanostructures (e.g., defects, dipoles, and hetero-interface) using state-of-the-art additive manufacturing (AM) techniques, the electromagnetic (EM) wave absorption

Wideband Electromagnetic Wave Sensing Using Electro-optic Polymer Infiltrated Silicon Slot Photonic Crystal Waveguide

CLEO: 2014, 2014
We demonstrate an integrated photonic electromagnetic field sensor based on an electro-optic polymer refilled slot photonic crystal waveguide modulator driven by a bowtie-antenna. The minimum detectable electric field is measured to be 2.5V/m at 8.4GHz.

Pressureless Infiltration Fabricated Steel Matrix Composites Reinforced with WC by the Local Electromagnetism Induction Heating

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
A pressure-less infiltration technique was introduced to fabricate WC particles reinforced steel matrix composites through rapidly melting matrix by local electromagnetism induction heating. The four specimens were attained by adjusting the moving speed of sand mould and comparatively investigated.

Efficient Electromagnetic Imaging of an Artificial Infiltration Process in the Vadose Zone Using Cross-Borehole Radar

IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Letters, 2011
Cross-borehole ground-penetrating radar (GPR) has been widely used to characterize the shallow subsurface and to monitor hydrogeologic processes. To investigate an infiltration process in the vadose zone, an artificial groundwater infiltration test was conducted in Nagaoka, Japan.

Effect of chemical vapor infiltration of SiC on the mechanical and electromagnetic properties of Si3N4–SiC ceramic

Scripta Materialia, 2010
The mechanical and electromagnetic (EM) properties of Si3N4 ceramic were improved by infiltrating SiC into porous Si3N4 ceramic by chemical vapor infiltration (CVI). After CVI of SiC, the Si3N4–SiC ceramic possesses improved mechanical properties, high permittivity and dielectric loss, and excellent EM shielding effectiveness and EM absorbing ...

Ultra-compact electromagnetic wave sensor featuring electro-optics polymer infiltrated one-dimensional photonic-crystal-slotted waveguide (Conference Presentation)

Terahertz, RF, Millimeter, and Submillimeter-Wave Technology and Applications X, 2017
An ultra-compact Electro-Magnetic (EM) Wave Sensor working at 14GHz is designed and demonstrated experimentally. The sensor is based on electro-optics (EO) modulation and therefore has several important advantages over conventional electrical RF sensors including compact size and immunity to electromagnetic interference (EMI).

Probing lymphoma infiltration in spleen of AKR/J mice chronically exposed to electromagnetic fields for risk assessment – toward noninvasive modeling

Journal of Biophotonics, 2012
AbstractUsing the AKR/J mouse model, the potential of Raman spectroscopy for monitoring lymphoma in predisposed subjects is demonstrated by discriminating lymphoma infiltration in spleens; the relevance of different excitation profiles is shown. Under green excitation with optimal fluorescence bleaching, stronger DNA bands, intensity variations at ...
