Surface-Enhanced Electromagnetic Processes

1984
Publisher Summary The chapter presents a study on surface- enhanced electromagnetic processes. The chapter discusses evidence that an electromagnetic mechanism involving localized surface plasmons provides a very important contribution to the enhancement.

Electromagnetic processes in silver isotopes

Moscow University Physics Bulletin, 2016
Peculiarities of electromagnetic interactions in silver isotopes are considered. Excited states of Ag isotopes are studied as a function of the mass number A = 95–117. Low-lying excited states reveal clear features that are specific for rotational spectra for the energies E < 4–5 MeV.

Electromagnetic divergences in weak processes

Il Nuovo Cimento A, 1972
We generalize earlier calculations of the leading divergence in weak transitions between hadrons by including the electromagnetic interactions of the hadrons and of the charged W-boson. It is found that these can be removed by a self-mass counter term having the same form as that found earlier.

Electromagnetic Processes in Space

1988
In earlier chapters we noted the similarities between Coulomb’s law for the attraction of charged particles and Newton’s law for the attraction of masses. Both are inverse square law forces.

Electromagnetic Processes in Dispersive Media

1991
This is an advanced text on electromagnetic theory, presenting a systematic discussion of electromagnetic waves and radiation processes in a wide variety of media. The treatment, taken from the field of plasma physics, is based on the dielectric tensor, and this permits the discussion of media outside the scope of the usual approach adopted in most ...

Electromagnetic Processes and Interactions

1996
The electron, the muon, and their neutrinos are important tools in testing the structure of the fundamental electromagnetic and weak interactions. On the other hand, if these interactions are known, they serve as ideal probes for the internal structure of complex hadronic targets such as nucleons and nuclei.

Adhesive processing by electromagnetic irradiation

Polymer Engineering & Science, 1988
AbstractA mathematical model is presented which describes the degree of cure in a thermosetting adhesive used to bond sheet molding compound (SMC) components. The model allows computer aided optimization of the thermosetting process for any type of electromagnetic heating of the various layers of the structure (e.g. dielectric, microwave or induction),

Nuclear Shadowing of Electromagnetic Processes

1978
The study of the high-energy interactions with nuclear targets is both interesting and important. In addition to the obvious advantages—ease of fabrication and operation, and large cross sections—nuclear targets offer unique opportunities to explore processes not otherwise accessible.

Pulsed electromagnetic processing of metals

2022
This Thesis is based on the concept of using an electromagnetic accelerator for metal forming, including cylindrical implosions and flyer plate configurations. Although the present research is purely academic, a contact and a collaboration has been initially initiated with the well-known commercial company B-max (France), arguably the top ...

Drying Process in Electromagnetic Fields

2015
In this chapter a comprehensive study of the phenomena involved in the dehydration process of wet porous solids through the use of electromagnetic waves with the aim to improve process strategies has been presented. Electromagnetic waves penetrate into the material and heat it volumetrically, due to the interaction of the electric field with water ...
