Correlated Transient Response of Buried Cables and Lightning Channel Radiation of Return Strokes of Five Rocket‐Triggered Lightning Strikes

open access: yesHigh Voltage, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Data from five rocket‐triggered lightning flashes are adopted to analyse the correlated transient response of buried cables and lightning channel radiations. These five flashes have the same termination point that is right above the buried cables and involve a total of 32 return strokes.

Electromagnetic Shielding

2022
This book describes the fundamental, theoretical, and practical aspects to approach electromagnetic shielding with a problem-solving mind, either at a design stage or in the context of an issue-fixing analysis of an existing configuration. It examines the main shielding mechanisms and how to analyze any shielding configuration, taking into account all ...

Electromagnetic shielding for electromagnetic launch

2012 16th International Symposium on Electromagnetic Launch Technology, 2012
With the basic principle of magnetic circuit, the effect of the permeability and conductivity of the coil electromagnetic launcher (EML)'s shielding material on the launching performance was investigated. The model of the coil EML was set up in Ansoft Maxwell, and the influence of thickness and the structure of the shield on the launching process were ...

Effective electromagnetic shielding

IEEE Microwave Magazine, 2006
Electromagnetic pollution has been categorized as a new form of pollution. The ability to reflect electromagnetic energy can be defined as shielding effectiveness. This shielding effectiveness depends on the frequency of the electromagnetic wave and the electromagnetic properties of the shielding material.

Electromagnetic pulse shielding

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1979
The limiting nonlinear analysis of Sixtus and Tonks[1] is extended to the prediction of the shielding effectiveness of soft magnetic materials subjected to electromagnetic pulses. The magnetization curve is approximated by N steps in which magnetic induction or intensity varies but both never vary simultaneously.

Electromagnetic shielding using superconductors

Applied Superconductivity, 1994
Expressions for the shielding effectiveness of thin superconducting film for near and far field interfering sources have been derived by modelling the superconductor as a dielectric material of negative dielectric constant. Computation of shielding effectiveness of thin film superconductor as a function of frequency is carried out. Results are compared
