Electromagnetic torque components in the synchronous salient‐pole machine

COMPEL - The international journal for computation and mathematics in electrical and electronic engineering, 1997
Centres on the decomposition of the total electromagnetic torque of electrical machines for two components. The proposed idea of decomposition relies on the physical meaning of currents that appear in electromagnetic field region. The first torque component acts on external and conduction currents, the second on the material medium particles currents ...

Mechanical forces and torques associated with electromagnetic waves

Applied Physics, 1980
Mechanical forces and torques associated with electromagnetic waves impinging on several objects are computed. The incoming radiation can be linearly or circularly polarized, thus carrying linear and angular momenta. The objects are matched dipoles in several configurations and a metal sphere. Numerous interesting results are obtained.

Torque exerted on anistropic magnetic medium by electromagnetic wave

IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1969
The possibility of exerting a torque with a nonzero time average value as a result of interaction of a plane electro-magnetic wave with anisotropic magnetic medium is discussed. The torque per unit volume produced by the action of the magnetic field on the magnetization of the medium is T = M \times H and it arises from the fact that the vector of ...

Generalized electromagnetic torque on a vacuum pulsar model

Astrophysics and Space Science, 1972
The Deutsch solution to the electromagnetic field in a vacuum surrounding a perfectly conducting obliquely rotating sphere with a dipolar distribution of magnetic flux is extended to the oblique rotator with a general axisymmetric surface flux. It is shown that the torque component perpendicular to the rotation axis is always of opposite sign to the ...

Development of an Instantaneous Electromagnetic Torque Measuring System

IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 1966
The following paper describes a technique for measuring torques developed by various transducers. The technique was used to measure the instantaneous electromagnetic torque of a two-phase servomotor, and some test data are included. This measuring technique was developed for the purpose of obtaining test data to correlate with the analysis portion of ...

On calculation of electromagnetic torque in PMDC motor

2006
The electromagnetic torque was calculated directly from the change of magnetic vector potentials at moving conductors of a dc motor with permanent magnets. The higher accuracy of field calculations was achieved using the procedure with Gauss points. Numerical operations which usually diminish accuracy in electromagnetic torque calculations were avoided.
