Transient heating and cooling analysis in an electromagnetic device
IEEE Transactions on Magnetics, 1994This paper is concerned with the finite element formulation of the transient heating and cooling problem in an electromagnetic device. The formulation presented is illustrated with the temperature distribution produced in a large 3-phase induction motor with a closed-air-circuit ventilation scheme under different load and coolant velocity conditions ...

Nonlinear Electromagnetic Transient Analysis of Special Transformers
2008In the paper original methodology for nonlinear electromagnetic transient analysis of special transformers will be given. A universal nonlinear transformer model will be developed by using the finite element method study results. The electromagnetic field analysis will be done by applying the original program package FEM-3D developed at the Faculty of ...

Transient Analysis of the Suspension Electromagnet Winding Terminal Current
2021 IEEE 16th Conference on Industrial Electronics and Applications (ICIEA), 2021Suspension electromagnet (SEM) is the energy conversion device of the low-speed maglev train. The system adjusts the winding current by the chopper to change the electromagnetic force to realize the contactless operation between the train and the track.

Transient Electromagnetic Analysis of the Turbine Generator Flux Decay Test
IEEE Transactions on Power Apparatus and Systems, 1982The turbine-generator flux decay test is modelled using transient field analysis. The field in the cross-section of the machine is calculated on a step by step basis using a two-dimensional, non-linear finite element approach, with a conductivity matrix to represent the effects of eddy currents in the solid iron and field winding.

This paper presents the fundamental surge phenomenon when a step voltage is applied to a horizontal line above the ground that has two branch feeders. The authors studied line currents and voltages at a joint with the moment method that calculates electromagnetic field in the frequency domain.

Transient electromagnetic (TEM) data in applied geophysics are invariably contaminated by random and coherent noise associated with acquisition, geology, and the environment. Advanced unexploded ordnance (UXO) detection and discrimination using TEM data require the suppression of the random noise and reliable separation of UXO signal from other ...

A simple method of transient electromagnetic data analysis
Geophysics, 1998Abstract Time-domain or transient electromagnetic (TEM) methods are used routinely in environmental, hydrogeological, energy, and mineral resources investigations owing to their ease of use and ability to generate diagnostic data. In some typical field situations, the gross structure of the subsurface may be approximately 1-D, so 1-D ...

Transient Stability Analysis of AC/DC System Considering Electromagnetic Transient Model
2019 IEEE Innovative Smart Grid Technologies - Asia (ISGT Asia), 2019Power electronic dominated power system has brought difficulties to the research of transient stability analysis. With the great progress in time-domain simulation technology, electromagnetic transients on power system can be calculated. There’s still a lack of ability to assess the transient stability margin considering electromagnetic transient model.

Electromagnetic transient analysis of the induction motor
1992Abstract As AC motor control began to shift from classical to modern control with the advent of power electronics, the lack of adequate analytical and control theories for AC motors was the first problem. This prevented full use of the favourable situation created by advances in power electronics. Without adequate theoretical analysis

s-domain analysis of electromagnetic transients on nonuniform lines
IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 1990The analysis of electromagnetic transients on nonuniform lines is addressed with special attention paid to those transients relevant to power networks. Traveling-wave and time-domain solutions are discussed, and the applicability of a proposed s-domain, distributed parameter direct-simulation technique is demonstrated.
