Quasitopological electromagnetism, conformal scalar field and Lovelock black holes

open access: yesEuropean Physical Journal C: Particles and Fields, 2023
In this work, we present the new higher dimensional dyonic black hole solutions of the Lovelock-scalar gravity coupled with quasitopological electromagnetism.

A Multifluid Perspective on Multimessenger Modeling

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2021
This brief review introduces the notion of a relativistic multifluid system—a multi-component system with identifiable relative flows—and outlines a set of models for scenarios relevant for different astronomical observation channels.

On the genesis of Post constraint in modern electromagnetism [PDF]

open access: yesOptik, Vol. 115, pp. 151-158 (2004), 2004
The genesis of the Post constraint is premised on two attributes of modern electromagnetism: (i) its microscopic nature, and (ii) the status of e and b as the primitive electromagnetic fields. This constraint can therefore not arise in EH--electromagnetism, wherein the primitive electromagnetic fields are the macroscopic fields E and H.

Magnetic Nature of Light Transmission through a 5-nm Gap

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2018
Slot antennas have been exploited as important building blocks of optical magnetism because their radiations are invoked by the magnetic fields along the axes, as vectorial Babinet principle predicts.

What Neuroscientists Think, and Don’t Think, About Consciousness

open access: yesFrontiers in Human Neuroscience, 2022
The approach the majority of neuroscientists take to the question of how consciousness is generated, it is probably fair to say, is to ignore it. Although there are active research programs looking at correlates of consciousness, and explorations of ...

The World Wide Lightning Location Network (WWLLN) over Spain [PDF]

open access: yesNatural Hazards and Earth System Sciences
The World Wide Lightning Location Network (WWLLN) operates a distributed network of stations which detect lightning signals at a planetary scale. Very high currents from lightning strokes radiate strong very low frequency signals in the 6–22 kHz band ...

Contribution of electric self-forces to electromagnetic momentum in a moving system [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2022
In moving electromagnetic systems, electromagnetic momentum calculated from the vector potential is shown to be proportional to the field energy of the system. The momentum thus obtained is shown actually to be the same as derived from a Lorentz transformation of the rest-frame electromagnetic energy of the system, assuming electromagnetic energy ...

Electromagnetic Probes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We introduce the seminal developments in the theory and experiments of electromagnetic probes for the study of the dynamics of relativistic heavy ion collisions and quark gluon plasma.

Histories electromagnetism [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2004
Working within the HPO (History Projection Operator) Consistent Histories formalism, we follow the work of Savvidou on (scalar) field theory [J. Math. Phys. 43, 3053 (2002)] and that of Savvidou and Anastopoulos on (first-class) constrained systems [Class. Quantum Gravt.
