This study proposes the dual electromembrane extraction followed by high performance liquid chromatography for selective separation-preconcentration of Cr(VI) and Cr(III) in different environmental samples. The method was based on the electrokinetic migration of chromium species toward the electrodes with opposite charge into the two different hollow ...

Simulation of the Influence of Organic Surfactants on Limiting Current in Electromembrane System
Colloid Journal, 2003A mathematical model of transport processes in ion-exchange membranes in the presence of ionic and neutral organic surfactants was proposed and the processes were described. Reasons for the variation in a limiting electrodiffusion current under the action of various organic surfactants were examined.

Separation of amino acids mixtures containing tyrosine in electromembrane system
Desalination, 2009Abstract The principal distinction of tyrosine transport in the electromembrane system is revealed. It lies in the absence of electromigration of this amino acid through the cation-exchange membrane MC-40 in a wide range of current density. This is true for any pH value, including the region where tyrosine exists mainly in the form of cations.

Diffusion Boundary Layers in Transport of Aliphatic Acids in Electromembrane Systems
Russian Journal of Electrochemistry, 2002The regularities of the formation of diffusion boundary layers during the transport of aliphatic acids in electromembrane systems are studied and their characteristics obtained experimentally are analyzed. It is shown that their concentration profiles in solutions of the electrodialyzer sections are asymmetric near membranes of different polarity ...

In the current study, for the first time, the sugaring-out effect was assessed in a conventional electromembrane extraction (EME) system. Utilizing the sugars in the donor solution as green additives can result in production of a pioneering and influential EME mode.

Voltammetric characteristics of electromembrane systems with carboxyl-containing polyamidoimide membranes in 0.01 M solutions of sodium and hydrogen chlorides are studied using a rotating membrane disc. The limiting current density increases with the decrease in the exchange capacity and an increase in the generation temperature and imidization degree ...

An analysis of works dealing with investigations of mass and heat transfer in electromembrane systems (EMS) is presented. Basic approaches to the mathematical description of the phenomena of transfer in the solutions and membranes of EMS and mathematical models of the mass and heat transfer processes are considered.

We have studied the electromembrane method for obtaining H3PW12O40. using31P,183W and17O NMR, we have studied the conversions of isopoly-and heteropolytungstates over a broad pH range. Depending on the acidity of the medium and the form of the isopolytungstate, we propose two schemes for reaction of isopolytungstates with phosphate ions during ...

Abstract The advantages of the rotating membrane disk (RMD) method, which allows the examination of electromembrane sustem (EMS) polarization under conditions of uniform availability of both surfaces of the membrane, are shown. To obtain accurate information on the values of membrane potential (and thus on the solution concentration near the ...
