Characteristics of PVDF Membranes Irradiated by Electron Beam [PDF]
Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) membranes were exposed vertically to a high energy electron beam (EB) in air, at room temperature. The chemical changes were examined by Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR). The surface morphologies were studied by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM) and showed some changes in the pore size.

Comparative Effects of Electron Beam Irradiation and Ultra-high Pressure Treatment on the Flavor of Jujube pulp [PDF]
This study investigated the effects of pasteurization (80 ℃ for 30 min), electron beam irradiation (3, 5 and 7 kGy) and ultra-high pressure treatment (400, 500 and 600 MPa for 6 min) on the flavor of jujube pulp.

Replicating Nanostructures on Silicon by Low Energy Ion Beams [PDF]
We report on a nanoscale patterning method on Si substrates using self-assembled metal islands and low-energy ion-beam irradiation. The Si nanostructures produced on the Si substrate have a one-to-one correspondence with the self-assembled metal (Ag, Au,

Electron-beam-induced ferroelectric domain behavior in the transmission electron microscope: Toward deterministic domain patterning [PDF]
We report on transmission electron microscope beam-induced ferroelectric domain nucleation and motion. While previous observations of this phenomenon have been reported, a consistent theory explaining induced domain response is lacking, and little ...

Surface charging of thick porous water ice layers relevant for ion sputtering experiments [PDF]
We use a laboratory facility to study the sputtering properties of centimeter-thick porous water ice subjected to the bombardment of ions and electrons to better understand the formation of exospheres of the icy moons of Jupiter.

Electron beam irradiation of denture base materials
Electron beam irradiation can be used to influence the properties of polymers. It was the aim of this study to investigate whether PMMA denture base materials can benefit from irradiation in order to have increased fracture toughness, work of fracture or hardness.

Effect of Electron-Beam Irradiation on Enzyme Activities in Agaricus brunnescens
This project was carried out to study the effect of five different doses of electron-beam irradiation, including: 0 as control, 1.5, 3.5, 5.5 and 7.5 kGy on peroxidase (POD), superoxide dismutase (SOD) and polyphenol oxidase (PPO) activities of brown ...
