Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Charge density distributions and electron scattering form factors of 25Mg, 27Al and 29Si nuclei

open access: yesIraqi Journal of Physics, 2019
An effective two-body density operator for point nucleon system folded with the tenser force correlations( TC's), is produced and used to derive an explicit form for ground state two-body charge density distributions (2BCDD's) applicable for 25Mg, 27Al ...

Populated Domain Walls

open access: yes, 1996
Several experiments suggest that the charge carriers in the normal state of certain cuprate superconductors reside on domain walls. In an earlier paper, we suggested that several aspects of the anomalous dynamical behavior of these materials could be ...

Investigation of Thermo‐Chemical Processes in Commercial MgO‐C Refractory Bricks With and Without MgO‐C Recyclate at Elevated Temperatures

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates thermo‐chemical processes during high‐temperature testing of two commercial MgO‐C brick grades, one containing 47.5 wt.% MgO‐C recyclate. Using ETV, DTA/TG‐MS, XRD, and SEM/EDS/EBSD, mechanisms such as carbothermal reduction of magnesia, impurity incorporation into the secondary MgO surface layer, and calcium‐rich phase ...

Impact of the Electron Density on the Fixed-Node Errors in Quantum Monte Carlo

open access: yes, 2011
We analyze the effect of increasing charge density on the Fixed Node Errors in Diffusion Monte Carlo by comparing FN-DMC calculations of the total ground state energy on a 4 electron system done with a Hartree-Fock based trial wave function to ...

Thermophysical Properties of the Desulphurization Slags With Various CaS and CaO/Al2O3 Ratio

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article investigates how CaS content and the CaO/Al2O3 ratio influence the thermophysical properties of desulphurization slags. Using experimental measurements and thermodynamic simulations, this study reveals complex effects on viscosity, surface tension, and density, providing new insight into slag structure and phase behavior under ...

Stripe phase: analytical results for weakly coupled repulsive Hubbard model

open access: yes, 2003
Motivated by the stripe developments in cuprates, we review some analytical results of our studies of the charge- and spin density modulations (CDW and SDW) in a weakly coupled one dimensional repulsive electron system on a lattice.

Unconventional charge-density waves driven by electron-phonon coupling

open access: yesPhysical Review B, 2006
We report our study on unconventional charge density waves (UCDW) (i.e. a charge density wave with wavevector dependent gap) in pure quasi-one dimensional conductors. We develop a new possible mechanism of establishment of such a low temperature phase, in which the driving force of the phase transition is the electron-phonon interaction with coupling ...

Novel Tailoring of Ternary ZnS‐MXene‐TiO2 Nanocomposite Heterojunction and Its Tunable Electrochemical Properties With Enhanced Photocatalytic Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
ZnS‐MXene‐TiO2 nanocomposite heterojunction for photocatalytic decomposition of this methylene blue dye (MB) greatly improves light absorption, charge separation, and active site area. Two‐dimensional MXene forms nanocomposites by easily combining them with 0D (quantum dots), 1D (tube and wire), 2D (plane and sheet), and 3D (particle and lamellar ...

Modulation doping to control the high-density electron gas at a polar/non-polar oxide interface

open access: yes, 2012
A modulation-doping approach to control the carrier density of the high-density electron gas at a prototype polar/non-polar oxide interface is presented. It is shown that the carrier density of the electron gas at a GdTiO3/SrTiO3 interface can be reduced
