Investigation of the rise of compensation of high perveance ion beams using a time-resolving ion energy spectrometer

open access: yes, 2005
The knowledge of the build up time of space charge compensation (SCC) and the investigation of the compensation process is of main interest for low energy beam transport of pulsed high perveance ion beams under space charge compensated conditions.

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries

Evidence of spin and charge density waves in Chromium electronic bands

open access: yesCommunications Materials
Abstract The incommensurate spin density wave (SDW) of Chromium represents the classic example of itinerant antiferromagnetism induced by the nesting of the Fermi surface, which is further enriched by the co-presence of a charge density wave (CDW).

All‐in‐One Analog AI Hardware: On‐Chip Training and Inference with Conductive‐Metal‐Oxide/HfOx ReRAM Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐in‐one analog AI accelerator is presented, enabling on‐chip training, weight retention, and long‐term inference acceleration. It leverages a BEOL‐integrated CMO/HfOx ReRAM array with low‐voltage operation (<1.5 V), multi‐bit capability over 32 states, low programming noise (10 nS), and near‐ideal weight transfer.

Effect of surface charge density and dielectric constant on the two-dimensional electron gas properties in AlGaN/GaN heterojunctions

open access: yes四川大学学报. 自然科学版
By introducing the surface state in the outer layer of AlxGa1-xN heterostructure and incorporating the electric polarization density induced by spontaneous and piezoelectric polarization, we use the variational method to analyze how Al composition and ...

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.

Predicting the electron density of charged systems using machine learning

open access: yesThe Journal of Physical Chemistry A
The prediction of the electron density in molecules and crystals is a key pillar in the first-principles computation of their properties. Using machine learning to predict the electron density by using the atomic structure alone can save the computational cost of performing first-principles computations.

Biomass Native Structure Into Functional Carbon‐Based Catalysts for Fenton‐Like Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study indicates that eight biomasses with 2D flaky and 1D acicular structures influence surface O types, morphology, defects, N doping, sp2 C, and Co nanoparticles loading in three series of carbon, N‐doped carbon, and cobalt/graphitic carbon. This work identifies how these structural factors impact catalytic pathways, enhancing selective electron

Theoretical studies of the dynamics of electron transfer in dye sensitized solar cells and of the mechanism of singlet fission in organic crystalline materials [PDF]

open access: yes
We present a theoretical and computational study on two different processes of interest for the development of third generation solar cells: (i) electron injection in dye sensitized solar cells (DSSCs); (ii) mechanism of singlet fission (SF) in organic ...
