Electron attachment to gas-phase cubane (C8H8)
Experimental data on temporary anion formation in gas-phase cubane are presented for the first time. The electron transmission spectrum displays resonances at 2.93, 6.44 and 10.4 eV, consistent with the empty level structure supplied by HF and B3LYP ...

Time‐Dependent Oxidation and Scale Evolution of a Wrought Co/Ni‐Based Superalloy
This study shows how a new wrought Co/Ni‐based superalloy resists oxidation at 800 ∘$^\circ$C. The oxide scale changes from rough, fast‐growing spinel to a dense, protective chromia–alumina layer. Atom probe analysis reveals tiny refractory‐rich bubbles at the interface that mark the transition to long‐term, diffusion‐controlled protection ...

Role of electron-electron interactions in chiral 2DEGs
textIn this thesis we study the effect of electron-electron interactions on Chiral two-dimensional electron gas (C2DEGs). C2DEGs are a very good description of the low-energy electronic properties of single layer and multilayer graphene systems.

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

The smooth effect of fast electron detection in the positive column in DC glow discharge
Collision electron spectroscopy (CES) which is based on probe diagnosis and allows for the identification of the impurity gas in pure inert gas has provided a new method for gas analysis. Due to the higher electron temperature in the positive column, the

Identified through the use of statistical design of experiments and metallographic investigation, this study exposes the stochastic origins of intergranular cracks in blown powder laser beam directed energy deposition additive manufacturing of pure molybdenum. It further demonstrates a successful crack mitigation approach with direct correlation to the
