The Electronic Spectrum of Adenine by Electron Impact Methods
Radiation Research, 1989The electron energy loss spectrum of adenine has been recorded over an excitation energy range of approximately 3-22 eV for scattering angles of 3 degrees and 6 degrees. In addition to reporting accurate vapor phase peak positions, the present work supports the long-held contention that the group of peaks in the 6- to 10-eV range belong to transitions ...

The case study part of this book begins in Sect. 7.1 with the presentation of a few examples where either unpolarized or spin-polarized electron beams are used to excite unpolarized atoms. Only the emitted light and its polarization, but not the scattered electrons, are observed.

Electron-impact excitation of krypton
Physical Review A, 1985First-order many-body theory has been used to calculate the differential, integrated, and momentum-transfer cross sections for the electron-impact excitation of the 5s'((1/2))/sub 1//sup 0/( /sup 1/P/sub 1/ ), 5s((3/2))/sub 1//sup 0/( /sup 3/P/sub 1/), 5s'((1/2))/sub 0//sup 0/( /sup 3/P/sub 0/), and 5s((3/2))/sub 2//sup 0/( /sup 3/P/sub 2/)= states of ...

Fusion Engineering and Design, 1994
Abstract Runaway electrons can cause severe damage to plasma facing components of large tokamaks. The designs proposed for the first wall and divertor of the next large fusion experiment, ITER-CDA (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor - Conceptual Design Activities) are investigated.

Electron-impact dissociation of HCl
Physical Review A, 1986A recently developed impact-parameter method is applied to electron-impact dissociation processes involving the A /sup 1/Pi state of HCl. Calculations were performed for initial vibrational levels of the X /sup 1/..sigma../sup +/ state up to v/sub i/ = 2 and for rotational temperatures to 1000 K.

Impact of radiation on electronics and opto-electronics
2021In this chapter we will present the results of the impact of radiation on electronics and opto-electronics for two of the LHC experiments during Run 1 and Run 2. ATLAS results are presented in Section 6.1; CMS in Section 6.2. In Section 6.3 we will present a comparison between the two experiments, highlighting operational guidelines and proposing ...

The Impact of Integrated Electronics in Medicine
Science, 1977There are two salient points which convey the essence of the impact of integrated electronics in medicine. First, the quality and availability of health care are becoming increasingly dependent on radically new diagnostic, monitoring, and prosthetic instruments provided by electronics.

The impact of electronic commerce
Proceedings of the 1997 ACM SIGCPR conference on Computer personnel research - SIGCPR '97, 1997The development of electronic commerce offers a promising way for business to meet challenges of the ever changing market. The fast advancing information infrastructure makes the connectiviry possible to reach almost everywhere in the world, but it does not ensure a successful business process.
