Development of a Novel Polyleucine‐Based Immunopotentiator for Subunit Vaccines Against Group A Streptococcus

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
Self‐assembling amphiphilic peptide L15K6 is used as a novel immunoadjuvant for the development of a Group A Streptococcus vaccine. Robust antigen‐specific IgG responses are generated and manage to kill isolated strains of Group A Streptococcus. Cellular and bulk RNA sequencing data reveals that L15K6 regulates immune responses potentially through TLR ...

Printed Liquid Metal–Solid Metal Hybrid Electrodes for Stabilizing Liquid Platinum–Gallium Droplets During Electrocatalysis

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A printed liquid‐metal catalyst platform is developed by confining Pt‐in–Ga liquid metal droplets within a tungsten nanoparticle matrix on porous Mo substrates. This architecture suppresses liquid metal droplet agglomeration and leaching, enabling durable and highly active electrocatalysis for both HER and CO2RR, with Pt‐dependent active motifs ...

Comparison of Intergranular Corrosion Resistance and Hardness between Nitrogen and Carbon Martensites in Stainless Steels

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
By applying solution heat treatment after plasma nitriding, followed by requenching and tempering, researchers successfully obtained nitrogen‐rich martensite on AISI 409. This study compares the intergranular corrosion resistance and hardness of nitrogen‐rich martensite in AISI 409 with carbon‐rich martensite in AISI 420.

Production of arsenical bronze using speiss on the Elephantine Island (Aswan, Egypt) during the Middle Kingdom (Middle Bronze Age) (c.2000–1650 BCE)

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
Abstract This paper presents the first direct evidence of the slags produced during the cementation alloying process of Cu with speiss inside ceramic crucibles, thus representing Cu alloying with As in Middle Kingdom Egypt. The settlement deposits from the Middle Bronze Age were excavated on Elephantine Island, within modern Aswan.

Archaeometric Characterization of Submerged Sasanian Stucco From Ghaleh Guri, Western Iran

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The Ghaleh Guri archaeological site, a late Sasanian site with a building complex dated to 591–628 ce, lies along an ancient road linking the western Zagros to Mesopotamia. Its architectural remains, adorned with stucco, faced annual river floods yet remained stable for centuries.

Tin–Lead Sewn Tokens From 13th‐Century Gdańsk: Assessing Local and Non‐Local Production Through Archaeometric Analysis

open access: yesArchaeometry, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study presents the results of an interdisciplinary investigation of 98 tin–lead sewn tokens from 13th‐century Gdańsk, the largest assemblage of its kind in Central Europe. Combining archaeological context, typology, SEM‐EDS and lead isotope analysis, the research explores provenance, production and function.

Interference of the Spectral Line Mζ in the M Energy Level Series of Ce on the F Element Kα Peak in Monazite Samples

open access: yesYankuang ceshi
Quantitative analysis of the ultra-light element fluorine (F) has always been one of the difficulties in electron probe microanalysis (EPMA). High-resolution qualitative analysis and proper subtraction of spectral interferences from major elements are ...
