Abstract Background Titanium nanoparticle (TP) migration into peri‐implant bone may influence osseointegration. It remains unclear how loading protocols may affect TP distribution. This study aimed to detect TP in the bone around implants undergoing different loading protocols in Macaca fascicularis.

<i>PyExtal</i>: a Python package for quantitative convergent-beam electron diffraction. [PDF]
We introduce a Python package with parallel computing capabilities designed for the refinement of convergent‐beam electron diffraction (CBED) or large‐angle CBED patterns.Quantitative convergent‐beam electron diffraction (QCBED) enables the measurement of structure factors and other structural parameters with high accuracy using dynamical diffraction ...

ABSTRACT Mount Erciyes, the largest active volcano of Central Anatolia (Turkey), erupted explosively during the Holocene, producing the Karagüllü, Perikartin and Dikkartin tuff rings. Even though major cities like Kayseri and its ~1 million residents sit directly on these pyroclastic deposits, the timing and magnitude of the explosive eruptions have ...

ZONATION OF PHLOGOPITE OF CARBONATITE-PEGMATITES OF THE BULDYM DEPOSIT OF THE VISHNEVYE MOUNTAINS (SOUTH URALS) [PDF]
In a plate 19 cm in size from the columnar crystal of phlogopite Buldym deposit in the Southern Urals, we studied the composition of alternating greenish-brown, yellowish-brown and darker brown areas by electron-probe microanalysis.

Self‐assembling amphiphilic peptide L15K6 is used as a novel immunoadjuvant for the development of a Group A Streptococcus vaccine. Robust antigen‐specific IgG responses are generated and manage to kill isolated strains of Group A Streptococcus. Cellular and bulk RNA sequencing data reveals that L15K6 regulates immune responses potentially through TLR ...

Development of high-emittance scales on thoriated nickel-chromium-aluminum-base alloys [PDF]
The surface regions of a DSNiCrAl alloy have been doped, by a pack diffusion process, with small amounts of Mn, Fe, or Co, and the effect of these dopants on the total normal emissivity of the scales produced by subsequent high temperature oxidation has ...

Alteration of X‐Ray Emission Band Spectrum Under Bragg Diffraction
ABSTRACT We use a Zr/Si multilayer presenting a gradient of period to probe the shape of the Si L2,3 emission band (maximum around 92 eV) in and out of Bragg conditions. The sample was prepared by magnetron sputtering and its reflectance measured in the photon energy range of interest with synchrotron radiation.

Accuracy in quantitative electron-probe microanalysis
Electron probe microanalysis (EPMA) is based on the interpretation of x-ray spectra emitted by specimens which were exposed to a focused, accelerated electron beam. One of the attractions of this technique is the simplicity of the x-ray emission line spectra which is particularly striking if we do not pay attention to the fine details of x-ray ...
