Enhanced discovery of bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase through computer simulation and metagenomic analysis of industrial wastewater

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We obtained potential bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase (LMCO) sequences through metagenomic sequencing. All sequences exhibited significant differences from known LMCOs in databases. To select the most promising candidates, we performed structure prediction and molecular docking using alphafold2, metal3d and rosetta.

Crossover from diffusive to ballistic transport in semiconductor nanostructures [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2005
We present a detailed microscopic study of quasi-ballistic transport in deep submicron semiconductor channels. In particular, we study the crossover between the diffusive and ballistic regimes of transport and identify signatures in the electrostatic response, electron density, and nonequilibrium electron distribution function that are due to ballistic

Evaluation of the glottic surface dose in three‐dimensional conformal radiotherapy for early‐stage glottic cancer using a treatment planning system

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background In radiotherapy for early‐stage glottic cancer, evaluating the target surface dose at the glottic air–tissue boundary is crucial, as buildup effect can cause underdosing. The accuracy of dose evaluation in the surrounding tissues is affected by both the dose calculation algorithms and the accuracy of the Hounsfield unit values in ...

Does dose calculation algorithm affect the dosimetric accuracy of synthetic CT for MR‐only radiotherapy planning in brain tumors?

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose This study compares the dosimetric accuracy of deep‐learning‐based MR synthetic CT (sCT) in brain radiotherapy between the Analytical Anisotropic Algorithm (AAA) and AcurosXB (AXB). Additionally, it proposes a novel metric to predict the dosimetric accuracy of sCT for individual post‐surgical brain cases.

Vitamin K2 in Electron Transport System: Are Enzymes Involved in Vitamin K2 Biosynthesis Promising Drug Targets?

open access: yesMolecules, 2010
Aerobic and anaerobic respiratory systemsallow cells to transport the electrons to terminal electron acceptors. The quinone (ubiquinone or menaquinone) pool is central to the electron transport chain. In the majority of Gram-positive bacteria, vitamin K2

Coupled electron-phonon hydrodynamics in two-dimensional semiconductors [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Electronic and thermal transport properties in two-dimensional (2D) semiconductors have been extensively investigated due to their potential to miniaturize transistors. Microscopically, electron-phonon interactions are considered the dominant momentum relaxation mechanism for electrons that limits carrier mobility beyond cryogenic temperatures. However,

Monte Carlo modeling of radiation dose from radiation therapy with superficial x‐rays

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction Superficial x‐rays (50–100 kVp) are used for treating non‐melanoma skin cancer and intraoperative radiation therapy (IORT). At these energies, the photoelectric effect significantly increases absorbed dose to bone compared to soft tissue.
