Bis(terpyridine)iron(II) Complex Wires with a Bithiophene Linker for Superior Long-range Electron Transport

Chemistry Letters, 2015
Abstract Fabrication of bis(terpyridine)iron(II) complex wires by introduction of a bithiophene-linked bridging ligand (LBT) on the Au(111) surface is discussed. A comparative study revealed a very small energy gap between the HOMOs of Fe(tpy)2 and LBT indicating relatively strong electronic coupling and better electron-transport ability.

Theoretical study on electronic structures, spectra, and charge transporting properties of two Pt(II) complexes with triazenido ligands

Russian Journal of General Chemistry, 2016
Two compounds 1-[(2-carboxymethyl)benzene]-3-[2-pyridine]triazene (HL) and 1-[(2-carboxymethyl) benzene]-3-[o-aminobenzoic acid]triazene (H2L') and two corresponding Pt(II) complexes, Pt(PPh3)2(L)Cl (1) and Pt(PPh3)2(L') (2), are theoretically studied by the density functional theory and time-dependent density functional theory. The geometric structure

Depressed mitochondrial function and electron transport Complex II-mediated H 2 O 2 production in the cortex of type 1 diabetic rodents

Molecular and Cellular Neuroscience, 2018
Abnormalities in mitochondrial function under diabetic conditions can lead to deficits in function of cortical neurons and their support cells exhibiting a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of several neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer's disease.

Dietary avocado oil supplementation attenuates the alterations induced by type I diabetes and oxidative stress in electron transfer at the complex II-complex III segment of the electron transport chain in rat kidney mitochondria

Journal of Bioenergetics and Biomembranes, 2013
Impaired complex III activity and reactive oxygen species (ROS) generation in mitochondria have been identified as key events leading to renal damage during diabetes. Due to its high content of oleic acid and antioxidants, we aimed to test whether avocado oil may attenuate the alterations in electron transfer at complex III induced by diabetes by a ...

Differential Solubilization of the Integral Electron Transport Complexes from the Thylakoid Membrane of Spinach Chloroplasts. Localization of Photosystem I, Photosystem II and the Cytochrome B6-F Complex

1987
In higher plant chloroplasts the thylakoid membrane is typically differentiated into grana and stroma-exposed lamellae. The functional significance of this structural phenomenon is the segregation of the two photosystems: Photosystem I (PSI) is associated with the stroma-exposed membrane regions while most of the Photosystem II (PSII) is found ...
