Evidence for two electronic components in high-temperature superconductivity from NMR

open access: yes, 2009
A new analysis of 63Cu and 17O NMR shift data on La1.85Sr0.15CuO4 is reported that supports earlier work arguing for a two-component description of this material, but conflicts with the widely held view that the cuprates are a one-component system.

Thermal Conductivity of superconducting (TMTSF)_2ClO_4: evidence for a nodeless gap

open access: yes, 1997
We report on the first measurements of thermal conductivity in the superconducting state of (TMTSF)_2ClO_4. The electronic contribution to heat transport is found to decrease rapidly below T_c, indicating the absence of low-energy electronic excitations.

The MedSupport Multilevel Intervention to Enhance Support for Pediatric Medication Adherence: Development and Feasibility Testing

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction We developed MedSupport, a multilevel medication adherence intervention designed to address root barriers to medication adherence. This study sought to explore the feasibility and acceptability of the MedSupport intervention strategies to support a future full‐scale randomized controlled trial.

Investigation of Cathode Kinetics in SOFC: Model Thin Film SrTi_(1-x)Fe_xO_(3-δ) Mixed Conducting Oxides [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
To understand the kinetics controlling the SOFC cathode processes, a model mixed conducting perovskite materials system, SrTi_(1-x)Fe_xO_(3-δ), was selected, offering the ability to systematically control both the levels of electronic and ionic ...

Parent‐to‐Child Information Disclosure in Pediatric Oncology

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Despite professional consensus regarding the importance of open communication with pediatric cancer patients about their disease, actual practice patterns of disclosure are understudied. Extant literature suggests a significant proportion of children are not told about their diagnosis/prognosis, which is purported to negatively ...

Orbital Symmetry and Electron Correlation in Na_{x}CoO_2

open access: yes, 2004
Measurements of polarization-dependent soft x-ray absorption reveal that the electronic states determining the low-energy excitations of Na$_{x}$CoO$_2$ have predominantly $a_{1g}$ symmetry with significant O $2p$ character.
