A methionine‐lined active site governs carbocation stabilization and product specificity in a bacterial terpene synthase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Representing and coding the knowledge embedded in texts of Health Science Web published articles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Despite the fact that electronic publishing is a common activity to scholars electronic journals are still based in the print model and do not take full advantage of the facilities offered by the Semantic Web environment.

First principles electronic model for high-temperature superconductivity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Using the structural data of the ${\mathrm{La}}_{2}{\mathrm{CuO}}_{4}$ compound both in the distorted low-temperature tetragonal phase and in the isotropic phase, we have derived an effective $t\ensuremath{-}J$ model with hoppings t and superexchange ...

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Leduc-Righi effect in superconductors with nontrivial density of states

open access: yes, 1997
Increasing of electronic thermal conductivity of superconductor in the model with nontrivial density of states was considered. The electronic thermal conductivity K(T) of SC in the presence of external magnetic field was investigated.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

Electronic phase separation in the pyrochlore double-exchange model

open access: yes, 2010
Electronic phase separation and related inhomogeneity is ubiquitously seen in strongly-correlated systems. A typical example is found between ferromagnetic metal and antiferromagnetic insulator in CMR manganese oxides.

ExoMol line lists XXVIII: The rovibronic spectrum of AlH [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
A new line list for AlH is produced. The WYLLoT line list spans two electronic states $X\,{}^1\Sigma^+$ and $A\,{}^1\Pi$. A diabatic model is used to model the shallow potential energy curve of the $A\,{}^1\Pi$ state, which has a strong pre-dissociative ...

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐
