Direct observation of dislocation motion in the complex alloy T-Al-Mn-Fe using in-situ transmission electron microscopy

open access: yesMaterials Research Letters, 2023
Metadislocations are novel defects recently identified in complex metallic alloys. It was reasoned that their propagation necessarily requires the orchestrated motion of hundreds of atoms along various crystallographic directions per elementary step ...

A 16-year Survey of Clinicopathological Findings, Electron Microscopy, and Classification of Renal Amyloidosis [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Medical Sciences, 2021
Background: Electron microscopy (EM) is a valuable tool in the diagnosis of renal amyloidosis, particularly in the early stages of the disease. In Iran, studies on EM and the clinical features of renal amyloidosis are scarce. The objective of the present

Electronic Markets and Electronic Hierarchies [PDF]

open access: yesCommunications of the ACM, 1987
Abstract The innovations in information technologies of the past two decades have radically reduced the time and cost of processing and communicating information. These reductions have in turn brought many changes in the ways that tasks are accomplished in firms.

Influence of Electron Injection on the Characteristics of a Hollow Cathode Glow Discharge

open access: yesEast European Journal of Physics, 2021
The article presents the results of experimental studies of a glow discharge with a hollow cathode in helium and argon gases using an auxiliary discharge as an electron emitter. The authors proposed to make the electrode common for both discharges in the

Electron–electron and electron–hole pairing in graphene structures [PDF]

open access: yesPhilosophical Transactions of the Royal Society A: Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, 2010
The superconducting pairing of electrons in doped graphene owing to in-plane and out-of-plane phonons is considered. It is shown that the structure of the order parameter in the valley space substantially affects conditions of the pairing. Electron–hole pairing in a graphene bilayer in the strong coupling regime is also considered.

Storm-Time Evolution of the Equatorial Electron Pitch Angle Distributions in Earth’s Outer Radiation Belt

open access: yesFrontiers in Astronomy and Space Sciences, 2022
In this study we analyze the storm-time evolution of equatorial electron pitch angle distributions (PADs) in the outer radiation belt region using observations from the Magnetic Electron Ion Spectrometer (MagEIS) instrument aboard the Van Allen Probes in
