Experimental study on solidification of uranium tailings by microbial grouting combined with electroosmosis

open access: yesNuclear Engineering and Technology, 2023
The present microbial reinforcement of rock and soil exhibits limitations, such as uneven reinforcement effectiveness and low calcium carbonate generation rate, resulting in limited solidification strength.

Electroosmosis as a probe for electrostatic correlations [PDF]

open access: yesSoft Matter, 2020
Ionic correlations affect electroosmosis in planar salt-free channels. Electroosmotic flow can then be used as a calibrated measurement of electrostatic coupling and channel surface charge.

Frequency-Dependent Electroosmosis [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2002
This paper presents a theory for frequency-dependent electroosmosis. It is shown that for a closed capillary the electroosmosis frequency-dependent ratio of DeltaV/DeltaP is constant with increasing frequency until inertial effects become prevalent, at which time DeltaV/DeltaP starts to decrease with increasing frequency.

Electroosmosis-Based Nanopipettor [PDF]

open access: yesAnalytical Chemistry, 2007
Decreasing the volume of reagent solutions consumed in each assay is an effective means to reduce the overall cost in high-throughput analysis laboratories. Recently, increasing attention has been paid to investigate the behavior of individual cells. If one wishes to transfer solution to or from a single cell, a picoliter pipettor is needed since the ...
