Thermally conductive electro-osmotic propulsive pressure-driven peristaltic streaming flow study with a suspended nanomaterial in a micro-ciliated tube

open access: yesFrontiers in Materials, 2022
This article focuses on the peristaltic flow of carbon nanoparticle-suspended nanofluids under the influence of electroosmosis. The flow is considered inside a vertical tube with ciliated boundary walls.

Large‐Diameter DNA‐Scaffolded Nanopores Enabled by Loosely Packed Peptides for Single‐Molecule Sensing

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A nanopore composed of transmembrane peptides and a DNA scaffold that assists peptide assembly was constructed. By employing peptides containing the unnatural amino acid 2‐aminoisobutyric acid (Aib), which promotes loose packing between helices, a large‐diameter nanopore was achieved.

Multifrequency Induced-Charge Electroosmosis [PDF]

open access: yesMicromachines, 2019
We present herein a unique concept of multifrequency induced-charge electroosmosis (MICEO) actuated directly on driving electrode arrays, for highly-efficient simultaneous transport and convective mixing of fluidic samples in microscale ducts. MICEO delicately combines transversal AC electroosmotic vortex flow, and axial traveling-wave electroosmotic ...

Effects of the Electric Double Layer Characteristic and Electroosmotic Regulation on the Tribological Performance of Water-Based Cutting Fluids

open access: yesMicromachines, 2023
The electroosmosis effect is a complement to the theory of the traditional capillary penetration of cutting fluid. In this study, based on the electric double layer (EDL) characteristics at friction material/solution interfaces, the influences of ...
